Aw that's too bad... Now what do we do?

And yeah, one or two more players would be great. I've already asked a couple of IRL friends but they didn't really bite. Time commitment being the biggest problem.

Hm, don't know. Depending on what you do next you might be getting into pretty dangerous situations soon, so a few more bodies...i mean backup would be useful. I have once again posted in the DnD players thread, but haven't had a response yet. I guess i could try searching via roll20, but the one CoC game i joined there was full of people who would obviously rather be playing DnD (best example, we had a guy who said "I spot hidden" each time he entered a new room, it was kind of silly like that), plus half the people joining never showed up. So i don't really know if i want to deal with that.

Ok, my current plan to get you into the group is the following:

In addition to practicing medicine and lecturing at the university, Dr. Webber sometimes gets called on by the NYPD to look at the victims of crimes (they don't have specialised pathologist yet). There has been a series of murders on which you had been called in on by Lt. Martin Poole of the Homicide Squad. The crimes always looked very similar, with the victims having been disemboweled by a sharp weapon (they died off this injury), and having a sign cut into their forehead which always looked about like this:

Lt. Poole can't seem to find any connection between the victims so far, and assumes that some kind of voodoo cult is the perpetrator. But his investigation does not link the sign to any of the known voodoo cults around the area.

You were quite shocked when a week ago, the murder victim on your table turned out to be your good friend Jackson Elias.

Meanwhile, the rest of the group suddenly decides that they totally need to contact the guy investigating the corpses for the police.

I was figuring they'd just like get eaten by a monster a little and needed someone to patch them up, no questions asked. But that does seem like a more elaborate solution.^_^
