I've finally made it back to C-. It's taken me 67 games on my lzrguidebanana account to get there. I think my rank this time is much more legit than my season 13 C-, since I didn't dodge vZ this time, and I didn't farm 4 games off a guy who was really mad that I overpooled his proxy 2rax 4 times in a row. On the other hand I feel like iccup as a whole is far weaker than it was 3 years ago, but that could be because I am better than I used to be.
And that is because SC2 has made me a much stronger player. As much as I despise SC2, and as little fun as I had grinding it, it's made me a better player. It might be fair to call me a "SC2 player" instead of "BW player," since I have 4000+ games of SC2 played and only around 800-900 total games of BW, even though I played BW first. SC2's low mechanical ceiling forced me to think about my actions, the purpose of my build, and how to take risks and coinflip. Conversely, when I played BW all my attention was focusing on executing my build and trying to not screw up my macro. SC2 let me experience what it's like to be in control of your mechanics and how to think at the same time as executing. I still have many, many games where I'm just cruising on autopilot and trying to do everything correctly, but I think the game that pushed me from D+ to C- is an example of how I've become a more complete player instead of just purely focusing on mechanics.

I think if I grind 200-300 games more at C- level I could probably get to C, but given that I've never actually tried to mass game at C- level I have no idea whether or not I can actually do it. Also, my TvZ is a real weakness. I managed to go 11-13 and get to D+ in TvZ, but once I reached D+ for some reason very few zergs joined my games, so I only got one or two games of practice at D+ level for TvZ.

See, if mca64 actually had a good record on ICCup, I'd be inclined to just say forget about it.
But he has like a 40% win rate and is C+ (real luck boxing imo), not to mention the fact that he usually acts BM and is a tard in instances other than this. So even without analyzing any replays, it's fairly simple to grasp that even if it wasn't mca64, it's not so far off that I'd say that mca64's friend acts exactly like the douche mca64 is anyway.
