I'm curious though, what exactly brought you here to TL? This seems overall like a very different crowd from the kind you play to (and for).

Why do you think Halo died over the last 3 years and do you see a future with Halo 4(which I have heard from people is a much better game then Reach).

Why do you think Halo died over the last 3 years and do you see a future with Halo 4(which I have heard from people is a much better game then Reach). It is all attributed to development choices. With Reach the devs implemented armor abilities in attempt to attract the call of duty crowd. Unfortunately this destroyed the forumla that was halo's success (core, simplistic shooter with no perks and everyone starts with the same stuff) Halo 4 took this concept and blew it out of the water. The devs threw everything they could into the game to mimic call of duty's successful traits. Instant Respawn, custom loadouts, abilities, perks, power weapons that spawn randomly. Unfortunately it was so unrefined that the experience not only alienated the competitive players but also the casuals. Also there were completely broken weapons within the game that didn't get patched/addressed until just now, so almost 3 months after release. 343 was rushed with h4 and the focus immediately after h4 launch was already on the development of h5. The console market is not built/ready for esports, they are too consumer driven. Each year a new cod comes out, with BroodWar that game was played competitively for like ten years lol. The devs aren't interested in making a game that last ten years, they just need to make one that lasts until the launch of their next title the following year. It is a sad thing since the engine in h4 is easily the best/smoothest engine halo has ever had. If the settings were tuned well, and the maps were designed for competitive play instead of the casual h4 had the potential to be the best halo to date. But all whining aside, it's still a really solid title with a lot of fun to be had within. Im max rank and would say that the time I put in was very much enjoyed.
