youre there to study?
once semester starts just join a dongari (the best one for you is probably the one for exchange students)
its only a month till semester starts again, so suck it up for a month and once you make friends they can take you around good places around school or around popular locations.
at least thats how it works for the foreigners in my school...usually

and dw. even koreans crave western food sometimes, so some people (usually the girls) will know good western eateries as well.

out of curiousity, which school are you studying at?

Burger Mine (I find the burgers similar to Fuddruckers in USA) $15 for all you can eat. Not bad, as you can choose any toppings you want.

Comfort Zone is really good for brunch / breakfast (their breakfast is perfect if you're craving american style breakfast) It's normally a bar at night, but server amazing eggs benedict. It's about a 5-10 minute walk off the Hyehwa station.

Also, the website: www.seouleats.com is wonderful for finding something that can cure that craving (albeit expect to pay a little more than you would in America)

Where are you studying?

Burgermine is awesome. You can custommake your own burger if you choose all you can eat for 15 000 won.

Burger stores in Korea:
Popeyes ist the best. BK sucks, lotte sucks and Mc Donalds is okay.

I can recommend Subway. The subs taste the same like in germany.

As someone who eats mostly Korean food out here, I can recommend Subway sandwiches. They're basically what I eat whenever I don't want Korean food. They are everywhere these days. Gangnam, Hongdae, Hyehwa, Hwagok, Sinchon... You can even search online to find the closest one to you. Also fuck Quiznos.

Yaletown is quite good for burgers. Kebab places are everywhere, especially in Hongdae. Mexican food that's actually good is harder to find. I dream about it every night. Japanese food is everywhere in Seoul as well. I recommend trying an 'authentic-looking' ramen place. They are pretty good. As mentioned as well earlier, Itaewon is great for foreign food.

Never forget, you'll basically never go wrong searching for Korean foods you haven't tried before.

Also might just be personal preferences, but I love Popeyes in Korea (they don't have it in Australia). The fries are just amazing.

I wish Canada had popeyes.. So good.. *drool*

I've seen a few in Toronto. Not sure about the other cities in Canada though.

beef (esp good beef) is just too expensive in Korea

if you like Papa Johns though, I dunno why you can't just go to Pizza Hut? The weirdly sweet sauce of Papa Johns is the only thing I really find particularly notable about it in the states...

I can vouch for Pizza Hut. The pepperoni pizza is not all that different from stuff back home. The pizza hut near 숙명여자대학교" (sookmyung university) station on line 4 (light blue) is a pretty good. Or at least was back in 2010.

yeah, sometimes you just want that same familiar style of food when its been months since the last time. i'd personally recommend quiznos as well if youre in the mood for a sub, not sure why its getting a lot of hate.

There's a Taco Bell in Hongdae as well, was my first time eating at Taco Bell though so I have no idea how you would feel about it.

I think it's a bit weird, there's a billion times more american brands etc in korea than in Sweden, so I would think it would be so easy for an american living in Korea... I guess it's not.

The Quiznos that was in Itaewon on the corner near Taco Bell closed down, are there any other ones?
