Some movie spoilers.
I recently watched whatever the newest Resident Evil is called. I won't spoil the movie too much however I think it's one of the better ones in the series.
Alice finds a clone of her daughter and Alices group wants to leave her. But Alice won't.
That got me thinking. Would I treat a clone of a Human differently than a Human? And more importantly is a clone of a Human Human?
I believe a clone of a human is human (since made of the same stuff) however I still think I would treat a clone differently than a human in a life threatening situation. I've tried to make myself believe I would treat them the same but I can't.

i would treat them like any other human being. but whats dead is dead, you cant replace somebody.
Would i treat a clone of my mom like my mom? no
I'd treat them like everybody else.

If you don't know they're a clone, and you can not tell in any other way, then there is little justification for treating them differently.

Depends on the situation. Like, if I had reason to believe that the clone might be evil, I wouldn't trust them, but that's the same treatment I'd hand out to any human.
So, I'd treat them just like I'd treat a human in a similar situation.

If they're a perfect clone, then they feel, think, and all that like a human, so of course they should be treated as such. You don't just pick your favorite out of a pair of twins and treat the other like they're not human, why do it for a clone?

Well a clone is a human in every way except for a label we give it so I don't know why you wouldn't treat it as a human. This holds especially true when you have an emotional reason to treat a clone as a human (like a clone of a lost loved one) although the knowledge that it's a clone might mess with your head.

This is pretty much what I was thinking, although I'm not exactly sure if twins are analogous to clones because- although the whole "two beings who are similar" idea is there for both pairs- twins were both birthed together as humans and were created at the same time (and are not the same person), but a clone was created from another person to be a replica of that same person.
I would still treat the clone as a human though, if he acted and appeared to be human... even if he wasn't technically a human.

Oh man under most circumstances I would treat a clone as a human I would imagine. But if there was a clone of one of my family members that passed away and they werent cloned until shortly before they passed away, I would be pissed!! Especially if I didn't know who, how, or why they were cloned. Oh man I would have to get to the bottom of that and get some vengeance!!! Am i right guys!!?? We dont take kindly to unwanted clones 'round herrrrrr!!

Maybe in 500 years it will be standard issue for everyone to have a back-up clone to be re-instated incase the main person dies.
I was more referring to the fact that you'd want to believe that they are still alive but the fact that it's a clone would slowly eat away at your sole. Kind of like in Heroes when Nathan Petrelli died he was replaced by a clone (wasn't it the evil guy? I don't remember). It was his mom who did it but she couldn't really live with the decision and it slowly tore her up.

However, if they could clone your current self the clone would be just an empty shell without any memories etc. he wouldn't know how to talk, walk. Even then i'd venture off and say the clones personality would develop differently and his 'birth' would probably cause some existencial problems for him.
On the other hand, it wouldn't have an effect on how I would treat them from other people.
Imagine having this friend who comes from the closet and tells you he is gay / he was cloned. Same thing.

Twin sisters have separate memories. A clone has the same memories (at the point of cloning).

A perfect clone with the same memories. The memories only diverge AFTER the clone comes into being. So a clone of yourself would think its you.

Let's say my best friend has a clone
If my BF is still alive and the clone threatens me, I'll try to defend myself and go as far as killing him
If he's dead, then I wouldnt because he's now the strongest link I have with my BF
I think that the clones take all their interest when the person in question is dead ( except if it's your clone obv. )

Sorry not related to the topic but this reminds me of a shitty idea it was to introduce a super hero in the resident evil movies. So disgusted every time I see Alice. Good for me I didn't watch the last movie.
