To be perfectly honest, things are perking up for me. First term grades came in, I just switched to a very nice extracurricular activity, and my person life is cleaner than it's ever been since I was in middle school.
But in the light of plasmidghost and Requizen banning themselves, I think that it's important to say that you should never give up hope and ban yourself.
Temping yourself for an academic activity? Sure.
But getting yourself banned on TL because of problems in your personal life is nothing short of stupid. I can't remember the number of times that I've gone into the ABL IRC and gotten friend advice, or talked with cLAN.Anax about politics by PM, or discussed a girl I was interested in with Aerisky. Things like that make TL valuable to me, and I feel like that if I didn't have this community of faceless friends, than I wouldn't be where I am today.
So, if you're out there, ghost and Req, come back.
Every time someone does that, I wince.

Oh god, just woke up and saw this and thought you would be gone as well now, phew... I share your feelings, I value this place, right now with graduation closing with me it's one of the few places where I can just relax and think about something completely different.

TL is indeed a amazing community. One of the few places I've truly felt a sense of community. And cool, now you're not faceless :o super low light setting and what have you, but yay =P

To anyone else thinking of banning themselves. I've done numerous temp bans and in the past the mods were stern against requested perm bans. I did spend less time on TL. I tried to focus on academics. I think to a degree it worked and I did spend less time on TL but TL was a part of me and I often wasted time elsewhere. I ended up making a second account too.
It always sucks to lose someone.

I've requested a few temp bans before during school and I would say they helped as expected, but a perm is different of course. That would be quite the overhaul. I wouldn't say I'm against the idea as long as you've put a lot of thought in to it. You can always come back whenever you like once you've done what you need to do... you just need a new nick 
+ Show Spoiler +Recently the idea of a self-ban (undetermined length of time) crossed my mind actually, as there's something I've been meaning to address for a long time, but I find I spend too much time on TL and gaming. I think I'm going to just try to put more effort into it before I do that though. I also need to stay unbanned so I can continue updating the ban awards!

I want them back . Requizen was nice in his posting. I never saw Plasmid as much, and though I never talked to Requizen, he seemed like a really likeable dude if his life hadn't been going down hill (((((.
