This first post will contain mostly introductory material in order to provide context for future posts. First of all, my name is Kezz and I am a 20 year old guy from Queensland, Australia. I have been playing StarCraft 2 for a year now, and I play Terran on ladder. I chose Terran because I enjoyed the playstyle that was introduced by the Wings of Liberty campaign, and have stuck with it since. I spent 2 seasons in Bronze League before finding the FilterSC Bronze to Masters series, which took me from Bronze to Gold in 4 weeks. I again placed in Gold the next season, and have now progressed to Platinum League on both the SEA and NA servers. I joined a SEA based clan called the Fusion Slugs in order to gain some more competitive experience (Clan Wars/Internal Tournaments) and find some new people to enjoy the game with. They're a great bunch of people, check us out using the link at the bottom of the post!
I enjoy playing bio-centric Terran because of the power and dynamics that it holds. Previously I have had favourite match-ups in the game, for example when progressing through Bronze --> Gold the TvZ and TvP games always felt much easier than TvT. However now I feel equally about all of them. I guess that TvP is the most fun to play because I get to use heavy Ghost builds, and my the match-up that is the least fun is TvT. In TvT I still have a lot to learn, specifically about army positioning and using Siege Tanks to their greatest potential. I have also not explored mech-centric play to any notable extent, as I've spent my time refining and practising my bio-play. I would like to explore mech at some stage in the near future because it holds a lot of potential in all 3 match-ups.
I decided to start writing this blog today because it is the first day of my Summer holidays (I'm in the Southern Hemisphere) and I have a ~3.5 month break from University classes. I think that these next few months are going to be very exciting in terms of my personal development as a StarCraft 2 player, and I think that blogging about it will help me to keep track of my goals as I progress onwards and upwards. I hope that any and all readers enjoy my posts, and all feedback is most welcome! If there is anything in particular that you would like to read/hear about, let me know and I will do my best to accommodate your wishes.
Yours in StarCraft,
Kezz
