In the past, I've written a lot of girl blogs and have read so many on here..
But this time I'm so confused and worried.. because it isn't just any girl that I want to help right now. It's my mother.
Her sister (my aunt), lives in a different country and is about to pass away. I never really knew my aunt but apparently she took care of me when I was an infant when my family was visiting them and she is extremely close to my mom.
My mother's sad because well obviously her sister is about to pass away and in our current financial state, she doesn't have money to fly back to visit my aunt.
She gets into these states of depression and starts to cry and I have no clue what to say to her at all. Like I feel like such a shitty son. But I've never been in this position before and have no clue what to do.

Just sit by her, hug her and caress her. Its honestly the best thing you can do.

Give her lots of hugs is all you can do, and trust me it will make her feel much better

Random hugs. Help around the house, make her dinner, whatever you can do to let her know you're there and love her. Also remember that it's sad to be sad but not bad to be sad. Took be a while to wrap my head around that.

As has been already said: Just be there for her. Showing your support when she's vulnerable is the best thing you can possibly do. Ask if you can help with the chores (or whatever she regularly does). Let her know you care. Buy her flowers too- preferably a varied bouquet of colorful flowers.
I've had a few decent cries in the past years, but the one thing that will make me cry- without fail- is when my mom starts to cry over something big. When my grandfather (her father) past away- and then my uncle (her brother) died a few years later, my mom started to cry at both funerals. My mom's a very strong-willed person, and I wanted to be strong for her, but seeing her start to cry just made me lose it. And showing emotion doesn't mean you're not strong either- so it's okay to cry with your mom when she starts. It shows you care.
