First, it goes into the zone of "Unusual but awkward". You're assuming as if readers know what Starcraft even is. All I read is that you got poor grades because of some video game. All I'm reading is that you're blame a video game for your performance, and crediting your victory over a video game for some accomplishments thereafter. Basically your life was held by a video game at some point. Video Game. It's not like have bad parents. It's not like being in some poor school or community. It's not like some physical or mental disability. It's not like "the world gave me something to overcome, and I overcame it" shit, but something you had full control over but let it get to you. So No. | ||

So No. Yeah that's pretty much exactly what I was thinking, though I don't blame Starcraft for my performance just myself. And I was already doing those "accomplishments" before/during Starcraft but they just weren't as big. I guess I'll write about tennis. | ||

Sport essays admissions officers get extremely often, to the point of extreme annoyance. A lot of them are "derp we practiced hard and we won a match or w/e". Tennis doesn't have this, but sports such as basketball are subject to the "3...2...1... AND I MADE IT!" syndrome. I mean if you can write a solid essay, go for it, but just keep in mind not to generalize or be boring with it, because they get a lot of sport essays. | ||

But it wouldn't be how it helped me improve hand-eye coordination or however else Starcraft helps a person. It'd be about how I played it like I was addicted (fairly certain I was though, do you need a doctor's diagnosis to write about it?). And how it affected my schoolwork up until this year. I'm pretty sure that makes the idea of writing about Starcraft even worse. | ||
