Woke up in the morning. A bright and early Thursday. It was nice and overcast out, and had drizzled the night before. That's my favorite weather, so the day was already looking up.
Went into school, and in choir I was repeatedly lauded for singing a solo bit in the song we were singing. It was... kind of annoying. Oh well, it was all good.
Spanish was boring. I asked a lot of German related questions since I can't remember the differences between German and Spanish anymore. It's been too long since I took Spanish. Still showing people up in that class too though.
Civil War class was simple. We went down to a computer lab to work on a project I'd already finished, so I got to laze around and browse TL.
Now, the scheduling for that class is odd, because it comes during the lunch hour. Basically, we do half the class, then have lunch, then come back for the second half.
At the end of said lunch, the fun really started.
A guy from my math class, who also tried out for the musical walked up to me. He tapped me and said, "Hey, the cast list is posted."
I followed him down the hall, and low and behold there's a small crowd of people around a billboard. Then I got up there.
I gazed at the paper on the board. I didn't see my name anywhere, so I'm thinking, crap. This sucks. And then I looked at the top of the list.
Boom. There's my name. Right under the lead character. That's me, Mr. Bing Crosby.
I went back to the Civil War class and for the life of me could not stop smiling. This had the unfortunate side-effect of being insensitive to the Brazilian exchange student who was sitting next to me. She had tried out too, and had gotten a crap part. So, I felt like a jerk. I was still really happy, so I emailed my dad, who didn't seem in the least bit surprised.
Next hour was World History, where I shared in a debate with my teacher in which we compared communism and fascism. I enjoyed it. And it wasn't with any malice involved, just two people talking it out.
Then in Pre-Calc, I talked to that teacher too. If you'll recall, she's one of the teachers who was at the musical auditions. So, I chatted with her. Apparently, my serious, and rather formal, demeanor was a large contributing factor. Nice, my personality has a place in the theater.
Just now I've taken around a six hour break to sleep, so pardon me if the continuity wavers.
The whole class however, was made rather unfortunate by Nick. The same guy who invited me to play D&D (later today) had tried out for the musical as well. He was the lead role last year, if I've heard correctly. This year, however, some kid no one knew came in and usurped him, and he got a very minor part to play.
He wasn't his usual chipper self. It made me feel guilty.
After school I went home, watched the second episode of Meta-dating (Much better than the first), and then went out to dinner with my grandfather. My dad didn't come with us because he has the same cold I had and it's beating him up.
I came home, played some Starcraft and then League with my buddies, wrote half of this, and then slept beautifully.
So, here I am. On the brink of another dawn I stand. There are plenty of interesting things planned for today as well. I look forward to trying my hand at D&D, even though Vec has my dice.
But for now, I must go to school. Good morning, everyone, and have a lovely day.
