G'day mate! *fake aussie accent* (-_-")
Now I'm in my 2nd year at my university, Curtin, Sarawak. I've been thinking lately of transferring to Curtin Perth and complete my 3rd year there. Sadly, I'm really undecided on whether to do my final year in Perth or in my hometown....
There are plenty of criteria which I look on moving to Perth, however, the one criteria that might be the decision would be how is the Starcraft scene in Perth? Or is it mostly centered in Sydney?
Also, if there any fellow Curtin students here who are in Perth, I would like to ask, is there some sort of eSports/sc club there?
Come to think of it, I'm mostly just curious if there are any SC lovers there and if there is a club of it. I'm pretty excited at the prospect of going to a foreign country and study/live there for a year.
Thinking of having to have a long distance relationship if I do transfer makes me sad...

If you like starcraft2 then it's pretty thriving. Barcraft at basement is always packed and they have pretty regular events. If you were a UWA student the campus is literally 2 minute walk from there
Some of the gaming places have tourneys sometimes too.
Brood war you might be struggling though
I don't know if you have much contact with fold but he is a Perthite as well

I'm a Curtin graduate, and yes, most of the StarCraft scene in Perth is based out of UWA (or Broadway, off UWA), which is almost on the opposite side of town from Bentley, but there's a direct bus that will get you there in about an hour ...
Curtin has a huge international student community, and they also have a large engineering/computer science community, so there is a good chance that if you hunt, you may be able to find something.
Incidentally, I'm heading to Sarawak towards the end of September for a week (mostly to eat the laksa, because YOU CANNOT GET IT IN THIS COUNTRY >.< and see the orangutans). Is there much in the way of StarCraft community up there?

I'm pretty much transitioned into SC2 already.
In Sarawak, hardly, only a few friends here who plays. West Malaysia however, has a small community which pretty much could be easily found this coming Malaysian WCG.
I've been planning to eat laksa for a week already, just couldn't be arsed to go drive a bit to that shop. >.<

Kuching Laksa is one of my favourite things on Earth to eat ... but it's so localised and belachan is such an "acquired taste" that it's incredibly difficult to find in restaurants in Australia. I would pay you money for you to send me, like, a bag of the paste packets.

Fold is a personal friend, know where he lives. BW scene is non-existent, BoB (basement on broadway) as mentioned usually has some SC2 events around. I remember getting a dota 2 invite from there =D. Don't know about any SC related clubs of the sort, wouldn't be interested since BW is virtually dead anyway.
