Gigabyte mainboard
16g ram
intel i7 2700k CPU
Geforce GTX 680 GPU.
650w PSU
OS: Windows 7 professional 64.
Got a TV hooked up to the computer and it's running as a secondary monitor.
Whenever I try watching movies, especially bluray rip (.mkv) it lags/stutters every now and then, at random times.
When I watch it on the monitor, it doesn't lag. At least I can't notice it.
This is what I've done to fix it.
Re-installed win7 4 times.
At first I had an ATI Radeon 7970 GPU, but I sent it back to the webshop because I thought it was defect, and got this Geforce 680 GTX instead, but it didn't help at all...so obviously the GPU is not the problem, nor the drivers.
Then I bought a new TV (lol) Same shit happens.
Tried different type of HDMI cables.
Have tried different media players, VLC lags the most, but it's also got the best picture quality..windows media player classic with cccp codec works OK, (still stutters) but with this computer it shouldn't be necessary to reduce quality to get better performance.
When I boot the computer with the TV as main display, it seems to be working better..then again, still stutters now and then, and it shouldn't be stuttering at all.
Tried different refresh rates on the TV and the monitor. (59hz, 60hz, 50hz 29 hz interlaced (whatever the fuck that means)) and so on.
Watching game of thrones now, and it's completely shit..lag appears out of nowhere at random times..CPU usage does not spike when this happens...
I can even run prime95 torture test while watching a movie without getting more lag, so I don't think it has anything to do with the CPU.
TLDR:
Got super computer from hell.
Can't watch movies without lags
Tried two different GPU cards.
Tried two different TV's
Lags like fuck what to do please help :-/
Sorry for the mess, I'm just pissed as hell as I've been fucking around with this all day now without any progress fucking kill me now
