First Thing:
I can't decide on which race I want to play. I like each of their respective styles and enjoy playing them all, so obviously I'm torn on which to 'main.' I have a Masters-level friend constantly suggesting Terran but I don't particularly like to feel limited... not until Heart of the Swarm. Another friend suggests that I stick to Protoss, as I've already invested two seasons (roughly... 40 wins) worth of games into the race and they're arguably my 'best.' Which sounds silly. I'm bronze level. I could understand if I were Platinum+ not wanting to switch because of the amount of time invested in getting to that level. But as I've said, I think I'm going to random on BrokeN and see how far I can get until HotS, and for the sake of progressing rather than fun, stick to Protoss on Marquis. After all, this is a video game, and by it's very nature... is meant to be fun, right? Or am I crazy? What do you think?
Second Thing:
At the end of the month, I'm going to be moving out of the house for the first time. O.O;;
Not really important, well, this whole blog isn't important... But, it means I have to put my plans of streaming on hold until I move into my new place, at which point I'll be looking for a job and hopefully working out a schedule that'll allow me to stream for a set length of time. If I manage to create and stick to such a schedule, hopefully I'll try and get my stream listed on TL.net! I'd like to stream Starcraft 2 obviously, it'll be tied into the youtube series I'm starting (see below). In addition to this, I've decided I might end up streaming myself writing some music, as long as it's goofy and not part of any major project I work on. 'Major' relative to my overall goals outside of Starcraft. Other than that, streaming will consist of random games.
My First Ever Video!
I made a video for a Youtube series I've been wanting to start up, called "Well, That's GG." The point of which is to keep track of my development as a Starcraft 2 player, and just as a hobby because gaming is meant to be fun! Excluding my first video, which is just something I wanted to get up on Youtube for the sake of starting, (hopefully) all future videos will contain music that I've written... Even if it means I'll be uploading them slower then what I'd like. The music I plan on writing will more than likely be Electronica of some sorts as I doubt I'll be bringing my guitar amps or drum kit with me when I move. So if that seems like your cup of tea, please check out my series at http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEDC3ABD821634908
One of the things I've learned is that most moderately edited videos require a substantial amount of time dedicated to them. If you chose to watch the video I've linked above, you'll see some cheesy transitions, some cuts, freeze frames, text, etc. The entire ~15 minute video took me nearly four hours to put together, not including the hour it took to render it and the two hours it took to encode the fraps footage. I have gained so much respect for people who make videos frequently.
I already have three games ready for my next two videos, with help from my friend Crash! He's a Platinum Zerg who dropped a bunch of ranks in order to random his way back up to Platinum from Bronze! I've been meaning to play against Salivanth, who's offered to play with me, but I've been doing too many things to focus as much as I'd like on SC2... So hopefully I can catch up with him some time. ^_^
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my blog!
TL;DR:
Do I think myself important enough to pay attention to? No.
So why am I doing this? For fun.
Am I appreciative of any amount of attention I do get? Of course, irregardless of whether I feel I deserve it or not (hint: I don't). ^_^
