At long last I managed to beat a Terran in a macro game as zerg. Actually I managed to beat two of them.
The first game was on Cloud Kingdom and was just crazy. I think I lost almost all of my overlords twice. But thanks to my awful macro, I had the biggest bank of money ever seen so this was never a problem. In the beginning of the game I quickly asserted a strong lead by taking three wuick bases followed by a forth soon thereafter. I had th terran contained on two bases and when I wasn't looking he took a third (while I took a fifth).
I made a push with banelings, lings, infestors, broodlords and corrupters and managed to kill his third with relative ease but due to sloppyness I lost everything while he had quite the chunk of army left. we traded back and forth and I was back down to three bases but he had nothing left so I just streamed a bunch of units in to his base and killed him. After 33 minutes!
The second game was on Condemned Ridge where I went for Mutalisk, ling, Baneling. After a long time of inactivity from my part (and taking bases) I started doing some damage with my mutas, basically killing his entire main. He made a big mech push and destroyed one of my bases, leaving me with five. I left him alone for to long and he came again with another push wich was easily thwarted and I could collect my victory here as well. After 44 minutes!
The rest of the games (there were about eight of them) were quite uninteresting and I lost a couple of PvPs due to seriously horrible play. I won a very satisfying PvZ though, that went on for about 25 minutes. It was nothing special, but it sure felt like it when the game was over.
I didn't get to play any terran though, wich was a bit sad because I feel I really need to work on my terran macro. Since all the practice I get is from the ladder (since I have nobody to practice with) I can't really decide what I get to play (unless I choose race of course).
It feels like my zerg play is improving and I feel I'm starting to understand what it's all about. Hopefully I can just learn to play more effectively so the games don't get so drawn out.
I stopped playing when I was rank 6 in silver and I'm climbing the ladder quickly. Hopefully I'll make gold soon.
