These are the same people that think saying Blizzard is doing X just to make money is some huge revelation, like this is a big outing of Blizzard being revealed for that company that... makes money?
There is also the whole nostalgia rose-tinted glasses thing, were people will always remember good times with games from their past and instantly think "they were better," without taking the time to think about why they feel that way.
Basically the whiners are dumb, shortsighted or just don't understand how things in the real world work. The rose tinted glasses holds no weight when people still play Diablo 2 and BW over D3 and SC2. Actually pretty much everyone who preferred the old games, still play the old games. This is the short-sightedness I'm talking about. Yes, there are people who still play those games. But how many, compared to the number that play the new games? Very small. Look what is happening to BW, even in Korea. It is being pushed aside for SC2. It is like seeing 100 people playing games, 98 of them are playing sc2 and 2 are playing BW, and saying "Look they are still playing Brood War. That means it must be better!" No... There are always small communities that hold on to a certain game, and that is fine. There are people who only play SSB melee, not brawl. There are people only only play Street Fighter 3rd strike, and will never play SFIV. There are people who will only play CS 1.6 and not CS:GO or CS:S. They will argue until they are blue in the face why the version they play is better than the newer stuff, and almost no one will care. They are a minority, and the majority moves on and the majority is where the money is. If people want to enjoy older games, that is fine. "Go play Brood War" is a valid response. That isn't where the money is though, because as vocal as those people are, they are the minority by far. The money is the majority and Blizzard is here to make money. And therefore the players should just give up on game quality because of that? Damn, people nowadays are zombies. I'd respond to this, except I have no clue what you mean.
Because we live in 2012, the only thing we should demand from Blizzard are pretty cinematics?
Also, if I'm not mistaken, it is still the other way around in SK, that is, the majority of players prefer BW over SC2. Your argument would make sense if 98 of those SC2 players had played BW (competitively, not just some campaign BS) previously and thought that SC2 > BW. But as it stands, the majority of SC2 players have never even jumped on iccup.

The thing is:
At one point developers were really constrained by their lack of experience with the industry, game engines and lack of computing power, so they had to make really creative decisions that would alienate one corner of the market completely, while appealing greatly to another. Now they can do whatever they want so they make games for people of ages 5 and up and appeal to nobody in particular.
So congratulations on having the mental development of a 5 year old if you prefer SC2 gameplay over broodwar. Good job!

Sigh so much BW fanboyism in this thread. I guess I shouldn't expect any less from TL though.
Done with this "discussion" because its been reduced to full-retard statements like the one above that mean nothing and are just dripping with BW fanboyism.
The game is dead. Get over it. All the BW pros are switching over, and why is that? Because SC2 is more popular than BW ever was outside of Korea. And that is where the money is. W/e I'm wasting my time, flame away fanboys.

Heh I will give sc2 another 3 or 5 years left before the sc2 fans jump to another flashy and hype oriented game . Enjoy while it last though .

Bascially the the newborns like you are dumb, spoilt kids who think they understand everything.
Damn right this is how the boring world works. Blizz has now entered it's ranks. We are disappointed. Great music used to be played on the radio. Blizz is used produce great and creative games. Now Justin and gang are taking the place of what we had. Now we have Acti-Blizz. This is where the money is because this is where the mass public wants.
And this shit is disappointing.

Fanboyism is apparently a negative quality in and of itself. And it's obviously something you're not guilty of with regards to objectively shittier games in all categories aside from graphics.
