Much has happened in the past month. I graduated, I moved, I got a job, I lost a job. It's been a very stressful time, but I believe I have been dealing with it pretty well.
I have been lucky in gaining many friends to replace those I have parted ways with. While I had grown apart from many of my classmates, there are a few I will miss dearly. I was lucky enough to see one of my best friends one last time before we parted ways. I was going to cheer him on at MLG Anaheim, but I caught the flu! Luckily, he had time to chill with me before running off to Dreamhack, though I got terribly sunburned from walking around on the beach and town all day with him!
Life is up in the air for me right now. I had been refraining from blogging and streaming too much because of a job I believed I was getting, but now that it's gone, I think that I'll once again become active within the gaming community. In truth, I really enjoy helping the gaming and geek world grow strong and proud. I know that my blogs, articles and costumes probably do little to help that, but each item counts. It brings a smile to my face when people tell me they tried out Nidalee because of me and love her or looked more into Zerg than before.
My apologies for not writing a blog with a single point or purpose, I just felt like sharing my life progress. As silly as it sounds, I generally enjoy the feedback from TL, as harsh as some of it can be, it feels refreshingly truthful and straight forward.
Anyway, I believe I'll write some game blogs or whatnot soon. I've gained great insight into both pro gaming and the gaming industry recently, so perhaps I'll talk about those, or maybe I'll just talk about up and coming games and changes. We'll see! ;D With Anime Expo around the corner, you can expect some cosplay, too!
Sorry for the lack of humor, I think not blogging for so long has left me rusty. Happy Father's Day, everyone!

We'll need a TL meetup at AX, you know.

So it's your lack of in person cheering on of QXC that led to his downfall :o

Definitely! Oh, so much. I'm free expect during Saturday at 4:00pm for the League of Legends cosplayer meet-up and noon on Sunday for the Fairy Tail photoshoot.
I'll check to see if there is a thread about this and, if not, I'll make one.

They informed me less than 48 hours before my first day that they retracted their offer of employment. It was upsetting, but all I can do is file a complaint with the EEOC. So it goes.
As for an Anime Expo meet-up, here's the thread!

we've missed you here at the blogs section riku! or by looking at the ratings, maybe only me ;..; I feel the same, I got a job about a month ago and I have no time for my musings or writing anymore. It's not something I much enjoy, but I could really use a good experience with my first job.

I was very good friends with your SO. The company has a horrible reputation of doing this to others as well. I've heard of them doing this to many others because they decide last second to hire a 'friend' instead. It's really crappy because you can't really out them for it or it'll ruin your chances of getting another job in the field.
Your SO is an amazing person, I'm sure you'll both find a new much more amazing job. ♥

I vaguely remember you trying out for a position in Riot? If you don't wan't to tell us anything because of privacy then I won't mind.
Best of luck to your future endeavors

Thank you for your support! He is amazing and is really what's helping me keep my wits together through all of this turmoil. Admittedly, it's been nice just playing games and watching shows with him. I fear I am getting spoiled spending so much time with him, though. I'm on the job hunt, but I've only gotten one bite thus far and I'm still waiting on the phone interview.
As for outting them, I am filing a complaint with the EEOC. They treated me extremely poorly, even saying they'd call me to explain their reasoning and then ignoring me (they promised to call two weeks ago).
Regardless, with my degree as an engineer, I should be pursing engineering! Nor do I want to work for a company that treats its employees like that. So I'm sure all is for the best.

Sorry, I don't want to get too specific. Thank you for your concern, though!

Best of luck to your future endeavors There's been a lot of drama about Riot recently (and apparently about Rainbow Cuddles, but that's WAY off-topic) and people have been clamoring for Nasus and Serif (and to a lesser extent, you, Riku, since you sort of know what happened, what's going on) or Riot to post some sort of an explanation but honestly I doubt anyone deserves it. It just really sucks that people whom the community enjoyed speaking with so much are no longer a part of the game they loved so much.
Explain if you want, or don't, but either way get back into a place that you (and Serif?) can have fun/be productive again.

Something sounds amiss. Then again, it's your business. We don't need all the details.

I don't see why you cannot commit to your hobbies and work at the same time. I'm pretty sure I gave you advice once when it came to your writing and it probably sounded something like this, "Do it everyday if you truly want to master your art. Even if it's only ten minutes. Every minute counts."

Yep, he cut his ponytail off and is sporting short hair! Admittedly, it looks pretty nice, but I miss his beautiful mane! :'(

It had to do with legal issues and being asked not to post, not lack of time.

I'm talking about the whole nine yards. Writing doesn't necessarily mean blogging. A contribution can be made to yourself.
You felt limited due to NDAs in the original agreement you had with your future employer. I say think outside of the box.
Perhaps I'm still speaking in tongues. ._.

As I know from personal experience. Being a Rioter and trying to play LoL competitively only brings out the WORST person in you.
The best people that work at Riot. Are the ones that don't play LoL or only play it sporadically.
Plus you work brutal hours for mediocre pay in a city that is overpriced on everything. I'm not proud of what I did, but I'm glad it happened to get me out of there and back into a normal life. I still can't believe what a monster I turned into trying to get into the gaming business.

Riku I wish i "knew" you better, you seem like a really cool guy. By know I mean the TL kind of know that is now, through peoples blogs. You are the kind of guy that i would love to cheer on, a dude with all the talnet in the world but sometimes life just doesn't go his way. Also, Psionic_Reaver, can you write a blog on that? I'd really want to read about your time there, unless you already have and I'm just ignorant. I would personally like to work in the gaming or other industries after college by using my 3-d modelling skills (well I'm a highschooler so its a ways off). I guess to sum up my post, Riku Hwaiting~~~ and Psyonic_Reaver, please tell us about it more, I'd definitey 5 star it .
