First of all let me apologize because I do realize that this is somewhat of a brag blog. But that being said, I would legitimately like to give you, Team Liquid, some easy helpful tips to make some gold//money on the RMAH.
As for credibility I've banked 50 million gold and over 1000$ using the auction house. I may not be an expert but I certainly know a few tips.

Since all characters want all resistance and vitality, one of my favorite cash cows is armor with at least some vitality and some all resistance. Depending on your bank you can set the minimum requirements higher or lower. This concept can also be applied to many other items like weapons with sockets,loh,and bonus crit dmg.
Step 1 - back roll :
have at least 500 000 gold - you need money to make money
Step 2 - understanding the market:
get a feel for what is worth what in your search range.
For example, any armor with 150 vit, 70 all res and dex/str/int minimum 60 is a good buy on any piece up to 2 mil.
Step 3 - searching for armor:
Depending on how much money you have, and how much you want to look for you need to set the appropriate filters. Here are the ones I use in descending order:
All armor
All armor types

1 - all res 70
vit 150
2 - all res 60
vit 150
3 - all res 70
vit 100
4 - all res 60
vit 100
you get the idea right?
Also I only look at 1 day 10 hours and up. Usually the good stuff is snatched up with in the first 2 hours.
Step 4 - is it worth it?:
when ever you buy something make sure you know you can turn a profit. To do this make sure that
cost of item < minimum new selling price x .85.
Step 5 - putting up your new item:
This is pretty obvious but I'll cover it anyways. When you put up your new item, look up similar ones on the AH to get the appropriate amount for your item.
Check the RMAH and the gold AH and see where you can get a better return on investment. If the RMAH has no chest peices with 150 vit 70 all res and str 100 you should be selling it there. But if it is flooded with items like yours you should put it up on the gold.

One more additional tip for those still reading.
Sniping legendarys
Many of these items are worth tons more than others but the people selling them have no idea.
For example Andariel's visage with int dex or a socket or justice lantern with increased attack speed.

Glad some people are having fun with D3. I've been really disappointed with it myself and can't really stand the way it currently feels. Maybe I'll come back later when the items are more interesting and make smaller profits.

edit: I've not sold anything on AH, a lot of items in my inventory that are worth selling the market but not enticed or just too lazy to sell them =)

I don't think any of us from QG/vVv will forget that any time soon, lol.
I was playing around a bit in hardcore and it does kind of make it more interesting, at least while leveling. I don't think I could enjoy the even slower pace of inferno, though.
Should be fun for sure. I check back after every patch hoping for something to pull me in again.

$250 is nothing compared to what people spend on microtransaction MMOs.

I don't get why some of my items (that are kickass and better than any other 'similar' stat items on the AH) aren't being sold even for 150 bucks..
What sort of item sells for 250 bucks?? I'm curious.

something that is the "best" of that item for some reason. Things i've sold for 250 have been decent but has had one stat that was higher than any others on the AH.
like a belt with decent stats but has the most str.
doesn't have to be godly, but has to be one of a kind i suppose.

I also think some items with too many good stats are hard to find by filtering, since there are only 3 options.
For instance, my ammy is
13-30 dmg
80 dex
120 vit
14% IAS
200 LoH
I thought this would sell at 150$ for sure, but it is not, maybe people are having difficult time finding it on AH... But then again, I would get Blackthorne if such +stats existed but they would cost like 250.

Mixing real money with a game like D3 was a shit idea. People are idiots if they're paying $200+ on an item, when the game only costs $60 lol.

Funny thing is the best items aren't even being sold on the RMAH cause it's worth way more than $250. In any case, these items don't inflate too much so you can usually sell em back and regain your money anyway after you're done.

You can't buy those items in hardcore, RMAH isn't available there, for obvious reasons

Just so happened to be going through a "memorable TL moments thread" a few days ago and your 1v2 thread popped up. Watched one of the casts: hilarious.
I'm pretty through with D3 because of all the crap Blizz has done to it, but good to see one of Teamliquid's pseudoheros making a profit on it. Some really nice catches there.

yeah its too bad that D3 has been made way too easy, along with the gold inflation kinda dampens the game. After I kill butcher on inferno hc I may stop with the D3.
