EPTFigured I'd clarify, originally when I came up with the parody in my head it was about two friends who used to practice / play with each other, but eventually the friendship broke down because of perceived imbalance and it's about how the protoss friend felt about it. I didn't go into this going "hmm how can i veil a balance whine in song form" lol(i save my veiled balance whining for LR threads
). I could just as easily switch terran with protoss or zerg but "you didnt have to hate protoss" replacing " you didnt have to cut me off" just worked well in my head and was the original inspiration.I also did it in about 15 minutes, so while I appreciate the people saying good effort / hard work it really was meant to just be a sort of casual thing so I feel bad taking credit for that(in general I don't think you can really take much credit for parodys unless it's really good since you are still pretty much going off someone else's work). I often think of parody songs in my head (grew up listening to weird al) but rarely share them , but if it introduces more people into Gotye songs which I enjoy and some people like it that's good :D.
