GSL Open Season 1 Mini-Documentary Project

caneras 433 Posts May 08 2012 06:10 GMT #1 Hello everyone. I had to do a project for my journalism final this semester where I used different multimedia to explain a narrative story. The teacher was pretty open to any topic, so I decided to document Fruitdealer and Rainbow's progression through and eventual championship match in the first GSL. I figured it'd be worth sharing if anyone would like to see it. There's a few spots where the video jumps, which I can't really fix, and the audio changes volume slightly throughout, which I'm too lazy to fix. Despite all of it, I'm not to disappointed in the result. It's titled Fruits and Rainbows after the TeamLiquid write-up of one of the rounds. I apologize if the author thinks I stole their awesome title, but it is an awesome title. Either way:

I could see this being played in some classroom 100 years in the future and they talk about how sc2 got started. Then they will wonder if blizzard really is ever going to release diablo4 edit: watched it all, please do this for season 2 i think you could do something similar to this as a way to introduce players to people new to sc2. Like a 10 minute video outlining a players rise to fame.

rewired Canada630 Posts May 08 2012 07:55 GMT #3 Was really cool, but it seems very jargon heavy it makes a lot of assumptions like everyone knows what ultralisks are or nydus worms. over all I really enjoyed it though

caneras 433 Posts May 15 2012 06:21 GMT #4 Thanks for the comments. I'd love to do a season 2, or follow MarineKingPrime's 2nd place finishes in the GSL. Also, as far as the jargon and the amount of game knowledge expected in the video, I made it with the intention of it being primarily for people already familiar with the game. The professor grading it has heard me talk about the game and the GSL since the semester started. All of my journalism assignments had to do with Starcraft 2. Haha
