I must admit, I have been quite busy recently with working on the whole graduating from college deal. However, I wanted to take a few minutes of my time to do two things:
1) Tell you all how Lightning in a Bottle is an amazing music festival that you should all attend
2) Bounce costume ideas off of your for said music festival
Lightning in a Bottle is a five day long music and arts festival. As described on their website, "Lightning in a Bottle is a celebration of Art, Music, Performance, Sustainability and Life."
It's easiest to think of it as a smaller, calmer, more structured version of Burning Man.
If any of the bands are of interest to you at all and you are in the LA area (or willing to drive), you should most definitely attend. Events like this really help restore faith in humanity! Plus, I know of many super awesome people that are attending. You'd be surprised how many geeks have a rather hippyish side!
Anyway, describing it is hard, so here is a video from last year's festival:
http://player.vimeo.com/video/34799577 <---- WATCH IT!!!!
Now, as you could probably see from the video, a lot of people wear costumes! I plan on doing the same.
My mother is making me a wolf spirit hood for my graduation present/birthday, so I will have that, but I have been considering some full outfits:
1) Light steam punk outfit - I have a short, flowing dress made of a light peach/beige map pattern that has a very interesting brown leather harness with neck cuff that goes with it. It's hard to describe, but the only picture I have of it is rather unflattering. I'll see if I can snap a picture of it before the event. I figured the flowing dress would be very nice in the heat of the festival and it looks quite earthy in it's own way, which is definitely a theme there.
2) Druid-esq outfit - With my first and main character in WoW being Riku, my druid, I have always found myself rather fond of druid themes. Recently, I played a 4.0 campaign where I made a Drow druid (yes, her lore worked that oddity out) and made this sketch for her:

I was thinking a similar outfit would be a great way to still look unique while being able to catch some sun and not overheat! No staff included of course. However, I am not sure what to do for the bottoms. A ragged skirt? Just light cloth tied around my waist? >:/ I was never able to figure out what worked, not even in my drawing.
3) Aries - I've always been quite fond of my Aries costumes because it is easy to put on, keeps me warm when I need to be but doesn't overheat and looks awesome! :D Plus, random cute girls come up and pet me! It's pretty much perfect for nighttime music festival wear. I wore it to the last music festival I went to, too (please excuse the derp-face I have here):

4) Something I don't mind getting dirty - At least one outfit I bring is going to be a throw-away. Something I can wear when I know I'm going to be recovering by laying next to the lake or wrestling with my friends in the grass. I'll probably bring a pair of dead jeans and something else I don't care too much about.
Wah... but that's only 4 outfits for five days! And I'll probably need to change more than once a day due to the fact it's going to be a billion degrees and I'll be active all day and all night!
I know TL isn't the best place to come for such advice, but I was told by many people that they appreciate my costume posts the most. Also, you guys do seem to have rather good tastes, I guess that comes with intelligence.
So here are a crapton of other outfits/pieces of outfits to look through (I was considering doing a raven theme using bits from my Puck costume):

Puck - This is what I was thinking of stealing the raven parts from:
Cheshire cat - It's a little on the young-side, but could work at night (yes, I know, messy background):
Goth theme - Would be good for the night time, plus, those boots are beyond perfect for concerts! No worries about squished toes... at least not for me! (Don't ask about the picture...):
And, finally, the one thing I am looking forward to most...
SPINNING POI!
I haven't been able to practice recently, but I am super excited to spin at a festival and I know my arms will be falling off when it's over! Here's a picture of me spinning:
Yep, that's it! Now... back to final projects... :'(
