Is Anime Ramen any good? The experience sounds like the best reason to go for me, as I can't justify trying them out when Monta is so damn delicious.

I can definitely recommend Bachi Burger; I've only been there once, but the time I did go was absolutely fantastic. If you need some cheap food after a night of drinking, I highly recommend Don Tortaco/Roberto's. Massive burritos at a more than reasonable price. I absolutely love the breakfast burrito. Lee's Sandwiches (also in Chinatown) has been my most recent favorite place to go: really cheap Vietnamese and European style sandwiches with a good collection of drinks/baked good to supplement it.

Strike700: Is that the Korean BBQ place across the street from White Cross/Tiffany's? I see it every time I stop by that area and am always tempted to try it.

As far as Korean BBQ goes, I'm a big fan of Sura (Chinatown.) It's buffet style at $20-25 a person, and you basically go up to the buffet, load your plate up with meat, and go back to your table and cook it. Definitely the best way to tuck in food when quantity is more important than quality (though the quality is pretty good.)

+ Show Spoiler [Some other food places] +
Much like Bachi Burger, if you find yourself out that far, I highly recommend NagoyaNagoya for all you can eat sushi. Great selection of rolls and sides, and desert is included (green tea tempura ice cream ftw.)

If you come across a Heidi's Brooklyn Deli, go there at all costs. The Hell's Kitchen is probably one of my absolute favorite sandwiches.

Best pizza in town is probably Naked City Pizza. I highly recommend adding hot peppers to whatever you order.

Nice write up I like it. ^^ Just wanted to add a few things that I thought about.

I actually don't mind IP/Flamingo. They are not nearly as nice as the other high end casino hotels, but still not terrible. However, I really really really do not recommend them during this time. I was just there during spring break, and there is construction going on atm. So I would try to avoid that area if possible.

Also, Fremont Street will be a good place to go see. The FreakinFrog is a cool bar, has 1k beers and over 600 whiskeys in the attic and was one of the cooler places to drink I thought. Also, Monet exhibit at Bellagio.

PS. he mentioned the cocktail waitresses, but really, tipping a lot of the people is necessary. Bell hops, waiters, taxis. A lot of jobs in vegas are in the customer service industry, so keep in mind that its a dick move not to tip most of these people.

If you go to a club (the nice ones like Bank and Jet) and don't get bottle service expect to pay about $40-60 dollars in cover and $10 for a Bud Light in a bottle, $20 for a shot. Not to mention the fact that you are going to wait in a line for a very very long time. The best thing to do is call there during the day and get hooked up with one of the promoters and get a table. The per bottle price is going to be about $400 dollars with a minimum of 2. I know it's insane to pay that much for anything but the two nights I went to the Bank and Jet were two of the most fun nights I've had in my entire life. Get about 6 guys together and pay $150 each and you won't regret it. Dress code at most places is dress shoes, nice jeans and a button up shirt. Don't go looking like a slob unless you have tons of money to blow. You get treated like a VIP with your own waitress, own security guard, etc. It's worth experiencing partying like a rockstar at least once or twice in your life. If it's a Monday or Tuesday you can probably get 2 for 1 bottles at most of the clubs, just call during the day and talk to one of the promoter people. That's what we did at Jet and it was unreal. Can you expand on that, possibly with how much you are supposed to tip for what please? This is where I am always lost in the US. It's just so foreign to me to walk around and throw money at everyone and I am always confused over the correct amount.

Las Vegas is even stranger than the standard US practice, because as mentioned, a large portion of the people here rely on tips to get by.

The standard is probably 10-15% for any real service, more if the service is really good: I'd say this applies to things like taxis, waiters/waitresses at a restaurant, and so on.

No idea about guys like bell hops, but I guess you could adjust it based on how much work they're doing and the type of place you're staying at. If you're at a dive and they do hardly any work, I could see getting by with a buck or two, but obviously if you're staying at one of the nicer hotels on the Strip and are bringing in a ton of bags, a $10/20 is probably more appropriate. I'm just taking a stab in the dark here, though.

Cocktail waitresses are probably the most common one you'll run into, assuming you're playing at a casino. As mentioned, this is probably more of a volume over quality one. Unless your server is really good, $1-2 per drink is fine and you can always tip them more if you know you're about to leave and you were pleased with their service.

I don't have much experience with table games, but I know it's customary to tip the dealer if you have some good hands, either as you win them or when you're about to leave a table. Not sure on the proper etiquette for doing so, though.

One of the less obvious ones is bathroom attendants. Men are usually pretty good about this, but women are absolutely terrible when it comes to this one (in general.) If you see someone in the bathroom, either just by the paper towels, or with a nice display of cologne/mints/cigars/etc, then it's usually customary to tip a few bucks even if you don't use a thing. Definitely more if you use something from their display. Bathroom attendants usually don't get paid a thing, and sometimes have to pay what's called a "house fee" ($50-200 depending on the night/club), and usually all the supplies on display are paid for out of their pocket. As I said, men are usually pretty good at tipping a buck or two here, but women are notorious for using a ton of shit and then not tipping a thing.

Edit: Deezl, it's fine if you want to include my posts in the OP.

I don't remember all that much near it, but its just north of Wynn/Encore, in the same parking lot as that huge souvenir shop. It sits back away form the strip a little bit. Its a pretty big place, so there's little chance there is going to a be a line.

Ah, I was definitely thinking way off anyway; the spot I'm thinking of is North of Circus Circus near Olympic Gardens. I should know my area better; I lived on Twain/Decatur for 10 years and could see the Wynn from my house. >_> But as a native Las Vegan, I try to avoid the Strip like the plague. ^^

Sonofek thanks, that is helpful.

As long as I am paying something myself I generally have no problem as I can simply tip 20% and be fine. I am just lost when it comes to services I am not paying for as anything from $1 to $20 seems to be possible. Why make it so difficult to not be a dick America?

Good point and worth covering. In America and Vegas especially, it's acceptable to pay below minimum wage for a job where the person is making a certain amount of wages in tips to recoup said lost wage. In Europe, there was a petition awhile back from the waitress staffs to get paid a higher working wage and not have to deal with that. Basically, in America you'll pay $9 for a burger and shake and leave a $2 tip. In Europe you'll pay $10 for the burger and leave a $1 tip, and the $1 price difference goes into the wages of the waitresses. It works out about the same.

I mention this because my dad is a Brit and doesn't tip for crap, blaming the staff for not unionizing and all that.

Here's a general tipping guide:

Personal service (Waiter/Waitress at a dine in restaurant, personal VIP attendant, etc.) - 18% for good service, 20-25% for great service when you're feeling generous. $20 bill = $4 tip.

Casual service (cocktail waitress, bartender) - $1-$2 a drink, 10-20% of the bill, or the small bet at the table you're playing. For good service lead with a big tip.

Taxi - 10-15%

Guy that carries your heavy ass bags - $5+, this guy is a badass

Doorman/Valet/Randomly nice guy - $1-$5 depending on how cool they are

Dealer - Whenever you win big, you'll commonly see people tip the dealer a small amount of the winnings. For instance, when I win a $100+ poker pot, I generally throw the dealer a $2-5 chip for the good cards.

Cleaning Staff after you blew up your room - A down payment of $20 and an apology note goes a long way to certain things not getting charged to your bill

20% on food, 10% to taxis, $1 per drink is pretty good rule of thumb anywhere in usa, vegas included.
as for anyone who does you any kind of a solid that isn't incredible (bringing some bags up to your room or something of equal effort) $5 is probably right but anything above 0 is good enough

also @ OP - cosmo has an entrance on harmon and if you know how to get, which isnt very hard, it cuts off a ton of time

Give you a bump so maybe more people can see this right before IPL. Good guide, hopefully people take advantage of it and don't get stabbed in shady north vegas.

If you want to go play poker, go to mgm, venetian or caesars. MGM is the best for 1/2NL that I found. It's been a while though.

Only strip club I've been to is sapphire, and it is exxxpensive, but a good time if you don't mind spending cash.

If you want to stay at not-the-cosmo, bill's gamling hall has a nice price to performance ratio and is close. Never stay at imperial palace. It's awful. Anywhere else nearby on strip should be reasonbly decent though.

Fatburger is pretty awesome and open late. Seriously, I've stayed there with a gaping wound on my chin and they still accomadated me and gave me a fanatstic burger. They didn't give a shit.

Check out the burger bar at mandalay bay for awesome burgers and fantastic beer selection. Amazing microbrew west-coast stuff. Can't go wrong. although it's pricey.

I will be getting in at ~9 on Friday and I can't wait! I haven't been to Vegas in far too long. Plus IPL4 should be a blast, of course.

Although I don't live in vegas, I believe there is a bit of misinformation on the nightlife being spread...

First and foremost, clubs:

High end clubs, tier 1:
XS @ Encore
Marquee @ Cosmo
Surrender @ EncoreBeachClub

Tier 2:
Vanity @ Hard Rock
Tao @ Venetian
Lavo (sort of) @ Palazzo
Tryst @ Wynn

Tier 3:
Pure (sort of...could be a 2) @ Caesars
Jet @ Mirage (BUT Jet is always a fun time because they play more hiphop than house)
Haze @ Aria

Anything else: Not worth going.

Anything outside of Tier 1 (and sometimes in tier 1 depending on weekend) is not going to cost you 50 bucks. Probably 30 (assuming guys and you have 1:1 ratio)

If you don't have girls, buy a bottle. Net it will run you around $150 a person (which is not expensive for vegas, drinks are around 15 a pop)

If you have girls, try to get the girls on a guestlist. Often you will see people walk up to groups of girls. Get the girls on the list, have the girls put the guys on the list. If that doesn't work, CALL/TEXT A PROMOTER. check jackcolton.com forums for promoters. They will often have discounted tickets.

BEST KEPT SECRET: If you are staying at the cosmo (aside: i'm at the cosmo this weekend, I'm not much of a gamer anymore but I lurk around TL from time to time when im bored), ask the concierge if they can get you into marquee at

1. a reduced rate
2. a HOTEL GUEST line.

often times these clubs will have

1. general admin
2. guestlist line
3. vip line
4. hotel guest line

so it can get confusing as hell. typically priority works backwards from what I wrote.

IF you cant get the concierge hookup, BUY A TICKET. yes marquee presells tickets (50 guys/20 girls). it is a DIFFERENT line (option 5 if youwill). I have never had to wait in this line because nobody knows about it. You ahve to buy 24 hours in advance online at marqueelasvegas.com, go to the box office (ground level, right before the craps tables on the right, usually there is a very unhelpful bouncer there and a MARQUEE BOX OFFICE sign), pick up your ticket will call sign. In all my years of clubbing, this has to be the more sure fire and hassle free way to get into a club. the 50/20 is standard, on a slow night you might be able to do 30/20 for the regular line but for 20 bucks i feel like its a steal.

Furthermore, all vegas clubs have stamps so you can go in and out (as in out to your room to drink and back into the club)

Lastly, strip clubs provide free limo and entrance. How does this happen? Look at a taxi or billboard ad with a phone number. Call it, say you have X guys and you want a pickup from X hotel. EZPZ. obv, they do not take you home after the strip club. I recommend Rhino and Sapphire. Rhino doesn't allow plain white t-shirts. (but basketball shorts are doable, go figure). If you cant figure this out, PM me and maybe I'll check in time to answer if I'm not too drunk.
