I seem to be quite fond of dreams as of late. I spend my days reliving old memories of times spent in a better world, where in I am a better man and do generally better things. I also find myself wondering about the nature of dreams in general. Exploring one such theory lead me to lucid dreaming and then subsequently to astral projection. Despite my efforts I‘ve not had a successful out of body experience, although I suppose my efforts weren‘t very focused. I‘ve had lucid dreams though a plenty, and many half-lucid ones as well. There‘s nothing quite like it.
My dad told me once that before I was born, my mother had a dream. In this dream she was told that her unborn baby were to be named Helgi. And lo and behold, my middle name is Helgi.
Names are interesting too. When pick-up artists start their journey to become the very best, like no one ever was(at picking up women) they sometimes assume a new identity. There‘s a simple reason for this. We have an established self. We then have ideas of how, who and what that self is. Then the people we coexist with have ideas of how, who and what that self is. This is in part what makes us who we are.
Now, many who show up to the garden of pick-up are weird antisocial dudes. I generally like to think of myself as one of those guys. When they start their journey, the first step is to assume a new identiy, a new mask to wear if you will. The second step is to change your outward appearance to conform with said new identity. The identity you choose represents everything you want to become in life. When you shed your old self and step into your new one, you are in a sense attempting to distance yourself from all the negative things in your life that keep you from becoming who you want to be and creating a new blank slate to fill with new positive experiences.
Sometimes I consider adopting my middle name as my new identity, a clean slate for me to improve myself outward to the world. In parts it sounds like a great fucking idea. Other times I‘m scared as shit.
I am a firm believer that the willpower of the human being is stronger than anything else in this world.
Guess it‘s time to start following my own beliefs.
