EDIT: here's his facebook if people are wondering
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001060448916
It is always easier meeting people online than approaching strangers in person. I met an individual online who I befriended for several months now.
![[image loading]](http://i41.tinypic.com/2r4216b.png)
He claims that he was an SC2 pro named LGEnvY.
![[image loading]](http://i42.tinypic.com/2ah8uu9.png)
so from this he sounds like slate, in the MLG providence open bracket
![[image loading]](http://i44.tinypic.com/nbccox.png) His other aka is SeaL
Then He claimed he lives in Korea, and attends Seoul National University, however his facebook stated he was in some community college.
![[image loading]](http://i40.tinypic.com/e6dkqp.png) more fiasco
For a while I wondered, how can a foreigner be in the IM house and teamliquid not notified. On and off, he would be tagged for checkins with friends in the LA area, which is in USA.
Now just this weekend:
![[image loading]](http://i40.tinypic.com/j803na.png) So he claims he's Yata?
![[image loading]](http://i40.tinypic.com/215sas.png) After I got this, I knew he was fake. I went on facebook to try to ask him about this, and it turns out he blocked me.
Here is a list of things he claimed: -trains in korea in the IM house -went to MLG providence and got eliminated by leenock and mkp (slate maybe?) -pretends to know all the korean pros and friends with them -just this MLG, he claimed he was yata
tl;dr beware of online people, they are full of deceit.
my apologies to yata. I have used his name wrongfully and am sincerely sorry.

Kind of obvious he was lying. Like, really obvious.
|
what a waste of TL forums
|
awww... i thought he was going to say his friend took his headphones.
|
... you didn't know he was lying until now? I can't remember the last time a foreigner hit Code A qual finals. Maybe Jinro? Lol.
Still pretty funny reading him talking out of his ass like that.
|
while reading through all this, from like basically when he stated he was a SC2 pro it was obnoxiously obvious that he was lieing. I thought this blog was going to be one of those, lol look what this guy was claiming, and i let him go on about it and now im posting it in a blog.... Then i read that you believed him.
Haha. Why would you ever blindly trust what someone online says? Too many kids, and well just people who will just tell you random stuff to sound cool toward people online they will never meet.
Well now ya know!

Lol!

Lol, what an idiot.
Its like back in iccup days. The best was when asking random peoples rank, and they tell you A, figuring that must be pretty good, when in reality the only nonkorean A ranked players were like fucking ret, and they usually hung out around B+. Such bullshit.
|
Facebook trolls and drama make me smile every time. Logged on yesterday saw 4 girls calling each other hoe's because of a girls relationship crap. lolz
|
Well it was really obvious he was lying from the start just to get attention, tons of straightup laughable claims. Funny guy xP
|
Reminds me of this one guy on bnet who was so intent on convincing me his friend and IdrA have been friends since childhood. I knew he was obviously lying so I could help but poke fun and ask him random questions to put him on the spot. Lolololol fun stuff.

This shouldn't be a thread. Mocking random people for the stupid shit they do doesn't really have anything to do with these forums.

This is a good subject for a blog, since blog's are meant to discuss feelings etc. etc. A thread in a major forum? Probably not.
I've had nothing but good experiences with my online friends. I've met them IRL a few times as I've traveled all over the place.
Note, all my friends are from WoW. Because of Bnet2.0's isolation chamber design, I have never even talked to a new person on it. Ever.

I may be dumb but can someone tell me what's the point doing this? like lying on facebook, pretend to be someone else etc... i really dont understand what was he thinking or trying to do...
|
Terrible blog, how can you not tell he is trolling you? I have no sympathy for you.
|
This blog made me laugh haha.
Should have stole your headphones =/
Why didn't you just ask to play him in SC2?
|
I find this whole thing hilarious. I sent this dude a message on Facebook when I discovered he had been pretending to be YaTa (who I happen to know.) This was his response when I asked why he was impersonating YaTa:

This kid is really a douche.
|
Lol, this was just silly. I didn't know people actually fall for this stuff.
|
How did you buy that? I am one of the most naive people on Earth, and even I found it blatantly obvious he was lying.
|
I also love the "tldr" at the end, saying not to trust strangers on the internet.
Where have you been? There are worse liars on the internet than people pretending to be pros. I hope you have never given your address or phone number or anything to someone on the internet...

... lol this was where it became obvious he was lying. the one before about losing in the finals to qualify for gsl should've already been sending red flags.

Some of the pictures in your original post dont load for me.

LOL such a funny read and pathethic
After looking at his facebook he has a lot of Korean progamers, casters, other people involved in the SC2 scene added probably to stalk them and pretend hes a pro himself
But hey, at least he supports TL!
|
LOL the only thing I keep thinking about after reading this is the documentary Catfish. You guys should watch it. It makes this look childish.
|
You got trolled really freaking hard.
|

Next time just check TLPD or Liquipedia. If he's really a top 5 foreigner (or even a top 50), it wouldn't be hard to confirm his identity with those sources.
|
Where's the troll patroll when you need it?
|
So you got trolled? Congrats
|
Oh such a shoddy troll. Next time put more effort in.
|
Thats cool you know his facebook. It would probably be cooler if you would have found out his TL name TT
|
HAHAHA man that guy said so many things that could have blown his cover.
|
Years and years ago I got a MSN message from a friend that said:
-Hey whos your favorite author?? -I repsonded
A minute later that "you have signed in at another location" popped up. I remembered that this was my security question! LOL.
Turns out that someone else did the same thing to my pal. I thought it was pretty clever.

This is why I never use these security questions or use a backup password instead. Just yesterday, Facebook wanted me to "improve my security".
If you sign up on a few pages and answer these truly, what are the chances of anyone finding the answer in your facebook timeline or other profile? How can you possibly keep track of all of these random questions from your childhood and personal preferences, so that you're not vulnerable? Yet another "improvement" implemented because of lazy people that ultimately plays into another one's hands.

This was like the most obvious troll ever

Yeah... only ret was A, lol. I can immediately name 5 others who were A or higher, non-Korean. There might be a lot of liars but that doesn't make everyone on the internet a scumbag, thats just wrong :x
