Right so I've known this girl for about 2 or 3 years, and a few months ago I started falling in love with her. She's super cute and loli-ish (though she would kill me if I said that in front of her) and has a Fujibayashi Kyou (from the anime Clannad) like personality. Basically she usually acts tomboyish and makes scary threats while smiling creepily when she's pissed, but inside she's a really good friend and I know she cares a lot about her close friends.
Since I've 'liked' multiple girls over the years I thought this was just another crush and didn't really think much of it until it didn't go away after like 5 months (most of my crushes only lasted for 2 or 3 months). So then came the 'too nervous to actually make a move' stage where I just continued acting normally around her while subtly trying to spend as much time with her as possible. I actually planned to tell her I loved her this summer, since there's an IB prep summer camp my school is organizing in England (right now I'm in Hong Kong) and we are both going there so I figured at some point during the camp I could find the 'right moment' for confessing.
However, I'm insanely hyper right now. I don't actually know the reason for this but I'm pretty sure it started when I played against a 12 year old girl in badminton like an hour ago and she beat me. It was a close game but even so I could tell she's way better than me, it was only close because I'm older, and hence stronger. After the match instead of being sad or pissed off, the only two things going into my brain at that moment was 1. Wow that girl is actually really good and 2. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
The LOLOLOLOLOLLOLOLOLOLLOLOLOL has been continuing for quite a while now so even though its completely unrelated I was like "HMM MAYBE ITS A GOOD TIME TO CONFESS CUZ IM SUPER HYPER AND WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG"
So yea, gl hf me
But before that, I think its a good idea to get peoples' opinions before I walk into a deathtrap cuz of my hyper-ness.....

confessing to some girl that you aren't dating that you love her (and sometimes a girl you are dating) is the quickest way to make sure she never talks to you again. try being a little more subtle and not creeping her out entirely.

Just do something you enjoy doing together, and after you've had a bit of fun tell her you like her. If she says she likes you too, then ask her out. If she says she doesn't like you, then drop it. If it's anywhere in the middle it means she wants to find out if she likes you too, so just keep spending time with her.
You can definitely tell someone you love them before sex, and good relationships don't depend on "dates." Dates are what you do with random chicks you meet at the bar.

Ya this guy is right, do something that you both enjoy and you can tell if you love a girl long before you have had sex. Relationships regardless of what the public says are not based "solely" on sex and if they are they are not going to last.

Often, our basic emotions are blown up in proportions due to (I don't fucking know) and as thus we feel more, than what we actually do. Now, I'm not saying you don't like her, but don't tell her you love her. Something is making it seem that way. Relax, get a better understanding of what you're feeling, gauge the situation and tell her, if you find it appropriate. If you don't it'll go wrong in some way.

Don't ever go up to a girl that you are decent enough friends with and confess you're love to her.
It's not love, it's lust.
Love isn't "my crushes usually last 3 months, so if this lasts 5 months, it must be love!" No. Lust.
Ask her out to dinner, hang out with her. Don't profess undying love to her.

In Bowling, you try to knock all the pins down. You don't hit the left or the right of the pins, that would cause disaster. You aim right down the middle to knock all the pins down.

I think you're just making it harder to understand my point. I think my post was plenty long enough without the additional analogy-- though it certainly is apt, I think one or the other explains the point fine. I think the OP just needs to keep a stiff upper lip and not go overboard in his confession, and he'll be fine.
