OMG I HAVE BEEN IN THIS COLD DARK ABYSS BETWEEN DIAMOND AND MASTERS (but perhaps a bit closer to the "diamond" side) FOR FIVE SEASONS NOW

In a fit of desperation I have decided to write a haiku:

This dumb diamond league
Which I will never escape
Fuck fuck, fuck fuck fuck

Might write a collection of these and submit them to a literary magazine

Yesterday I died
To four-gate, six-pool, and once
I disconnected.

I don't know what it is. Even when I win it is because my opponents did the stupidest stuff. And when I go on a run, and start beating masters players, and suddenly everyone I see is Masters, it's like I lose all ability to play.

If I had a dime
For each time I neglected
That damn baneling speed

At this point I invariably lose like six or seven games in a row and drop back down to the depths of diamond, with no masters players in sight. I've tried everything: playing lots of games, playing just a couple of games a day, cheesing every game, macroing every game...

It must be a curse
Every game I'm so much worse
My ten-roach-rush sucks

BUT I WILL PERSEVERE!

Because fuck this shit
If more GG means more skill
Then I'm bloody FLASH

Haha. I feel like this all the time. Quite similar to my thoughts when I'm raging.

first haiku -> 5/5 blog

I was in the same position as you. I'd play high diamonds forever, and win every game. Then the second I played a master league, I'd lose, and it was because they were better than me. Then I'd lose and go back down to top50 diamond.

Here's how I promoted:
1 gameplan per matchup. Stick to the plan in the large scheme; deviate when necessary.
(of course macro/mirco/desicion making as well)

It sounds like you're zerg, so it's a bit tougher, but you should still have a plan. ONLY do 1 playstyle and 1 plan per matchup, and I assure you you'll get there. :D

If it makes you feel better, the fact that you're on the verge and consistently playing masters players (despite being in diamond) means you'll get the promotion soon. Expect to see that promotion popup once you hit an upswing (arbitrarily, something like win 16 of your last 20 games)

I think you're right about sticking with one plan. I'll try that for a couple of weeks and see what happens
