EPTToday was a Big day for me i was registered to do the Programming Quest (Quest is an academic competition for major areas of study) i was doing Visual basic, java was another option as i know both languages but i know visual basic inside and out and my understanding of file sequencing in Java is limited.
So at 9am i woke up... nervous as hell because it turns out my team could not make it.. oh god all by myself V.S. other teams with 3 people each. one to code and two others to write the other programs that need to be done at the time. so they defiantly had an advantage as far as time management goes.
arriving at Trident Tech at about 11:15 with my Programming teacher i was so nervous, got into the computer lab and started to get used to the environment and syntax of VB2010, i only know VB.net
god the syntax was SO different i was worried i couldn't finish the scenarios. i end up finishing the 5 scenarios in the allotted 2 hours. takes longer than one might think some teams didn't finish :D.
so im waiting in the awards ceremony (we havent been told the winners yet, so again im just a ball of nerves haha) they go through the level 3 teams, and finally on to the level 4 teams (in my case it wasnt a team -_- just my lonesome self haha) but they start calling off the winners and my name was called for 3rd place i about shit myself hah took third place all by myself i was ecstatic, went up got my medal and got my pic taken. came back and sat through the rest of the ceremonies with a huge ass grin on my face i beat out 19 or so other kids who had teams all by myself :D
