So this is the situation:
I live in a flat for myself. In the same house there are like 5 other flats.
Im good with all my neighbours who Ive met so far.
During the last weeks there have been many occasions were you could hear a guy and his gf/wife shouting, hammering against walls , moving heavy objects, that sort of stuff. It's quite loud I have to say and it's often times for several hours (!!) and at like 2-4 AM wtf.
So I talked to some people and it looks like "we" know who those people are and attempts to talk to them from my neighbours seem to have failed.
Because I am writing exams this week, yesterday I put up a note on the entrance of my house:

Translation:
"As I am writing exams this week , I would be grateful if the loud shouting and all the other noises after midnight could stop for a week. Thanks!"
See I even put a smiley there!
Today I received a call from my landlord, who told me that "that family will move out this week".
One of my neighbours told me that he had scanned my text and had sent it to my landlord, who was quite shocked.
I feel quilty for kicking somebody out of the house, I think they might even have a baby (because when the man starts to shout real loud , at some point theres always a baby starting to cry).
Obligatory question: Am I a dick?

Not in the slightest, standing up for yourself and your other neighbours isn't dick at all.

I'd say it's unfortunate, but you, yourself, didn't kick them out of their living situation. Don't beat yourself up over it.

The neighbour that "scanned?" the text and sent it to the landlord is a dick, you were giving them a fair chance. I am sure everyone else is grateful as well though. Enjoy the peace and quiet(unless someone moves in during your study time). Also remember it might not have been the first complaint the landlord has heard about them.

Anyways, don't worry about it. Its definitely not your fault at all.

You can't be living next to people that keep you awake at night, not if it happens like clockwork.
If polite attempts to get them to stop don't work then they should just move to a place where they can be as loud as they need to be.

Second: Thanks for making me feel better. Only problem now is, they are REALLY fucking loud as we speak (seems like they are fighting about whos fault this is.) They live on the other end of the house, 1. floor, while I am third floor. I can understand what they are saying lol. Well it's just 9 o clock atm so Im not mad yet.

No, it sounds like you made an attempt to ask them to keep quiet (When you live in adjoining flats/apartments you need to be cognizant of those around you, screaming and shouting in the middle of the night is being shitty people). And your neighbors all saw that and went "we should let the landlord know, since all of us want this to stop."
I'm not sure what kind of terms you signed your lease but there is probably a clause in there about undo noise or quiet hours during the middle of the night. So its quite possible that "family" was breaking the terms as well.
Maybe this will prompt them to break up and no longer scream at each other.

It's just as much your living area as it is theirs, a reasonable request for peace and quiet after midnight is perfectly reasonable. Most people probably wouldn't have been as nice as you were.

The neighbor who scanned the text is he never gave them the chance to correct their actions. Which you were offering them you did nothing behind their back you tried to solve the problem via them.

I don't think you were the bad guy but I feel like in situations like these it's always better to go talk to people directly instead of leaving notes. I know that you said the neighbors have tried to talk with them before and it didn't help but then I don't see how a semi-annonymous note would have been better. My guess is that they had it coming since you said the neighbors had already talked to them so I'm sure the landlord was aware of the problem. But yeah don't lose any sleep over it since that would be kind of counter-productive

1) The first letter of the first word in a sentence is capitalised.
2) Whereas "it's" is a contraction of "it is", "its" is a possessive pronoun.
I think asking your neighbours to be quiet for a while is perfectly fine, albeit that you should try to talk to them instead of writing a note. Also, "Geschrei" and "Lärm" easily render the message passive aggressive (which would make most people angry, which doesn't help you at all) so it's more sensible and more effective to actually talk to the people. Obviously they're not partying or anything, so it's not like they'd read your note and go "Oh, right, we totally should stop arguing about the future of our family and our financial situation because apparently there's a student who needs to pass an exam."
