Genius looked like the Joker in my mind. DongRaeGu as Batman.

Or you can photoshop like me.

I guess I'm going to be a critic and give some comments on your story.
I'll start with things I like.

I really like how heroic you portray DRG and how much effort he had to put in to beat someone like Genius.
DRG's awesome, and he deserves more fan fics.

I don't like your portrayal of Genius as some sort of monster who lurk in shadows.
Genius in reality is just as valiant as DRG, feels like your story is biased heavily towards one guy than the other, and it really doesn't do Genius justice.

The rivalry between DRG and Genius came off as generic hero vs villain and is quite 1 dimensional, instead of what it really is: brother, rival, best friend and enemy.

But to end on a good note, I do like how well thought out the mind games were in your story.
It's a cute passionate blog.
Thanks.

Yea, I wasn't sure if everyone would be happy with the way I portrayed Genius. I will say however, I was cheering for Genius and I voted for him on Liquibet. He was the first player I ever saw in a professional eSports game, back at Blizzcon 2010. I fell in love with the game and him. I love DongRaeGu as well, but I love Genius just a little bit more.

I put him in a villain sort of role due to his tendency to trick his opponents and feed them false information. I also said he lurked in the shadows as for a long time he's been in Code S, but that's about it, he's never gotten far in it always being overshadowed by many others. I didnt intend him to be a "Monster" more of a Super villain or something.

If I wrote a totally analytical review of the finals I would be laying praise on Genius for several of those games, he did some FANTASTIC stuff that had me giddy, thinking he was going to win the whole thing.

But anyway, thanks.

I might get a little hate for it but:

I know they're teammates, and I know that in the end their team was winning, and maybe they were stressed because they were teammates, I don't know. I think Genius is a great protoss, and I think DRG is probably the best zerg player in the world at the moment (though Nestea is still ahead based on consistency still I think). But frankly I think they both played like shit in the finals.

Again, i know it's the finals, i know they were probably happy just to have an MVP (our team gets the money no matter what), stress because they're teammates or hard time taking it too seriously because they'd effectively already won, and I'm not saying they're bad players or anything like that, but the quality and level of those games in terms of skill made me cringe.

Of course it was the finals, so it was probably the best games ever to some people. And they were close, and somehow to a lot of people a game being close = it being a good game, because close for a lot of people is more interesting than actual skill. I'm not trashing on those people that find more entertainment from that either. For me however, I would have rather seen the two of them play well (and frankly I think it would have still made for awesome close games), than one where there are mistakes and horrible decisions and bad ideas left and right all over, but it's close in the end so it's "epic". I just wanted to let that off somewhere.

I whole heartedly agree that this wasn't their best plays. But I will try to give two reasons why.

1. This is both their first GSL finals. Both of them have a lot to prove and a whole lot to lose. DRG seems to have more to lose, because if he lost he would be the mocking stock of the esports world for months with the label "kongline." I think nerves got to them...especially Genius, who hasn't played on the big stage since like 2010...

2. The first 4 games were actually quite interesting to watch, with the exception of that bungled voidray attack on game 2...the plays themselves were very solid. I especially admire game 3 in which Genius did a late +1 upgrade fein into a 7 gate stalker 2 base allin attack. The longer the series went, however, you can really see Genius's stamina deteriorate...
Again he's not used to playing such long series. If you look at Genius's GSL run, he rarely if ever goes long in a series. Starting with game 5, he became very indecisive and wobbly with his control. Perhaps it was fatigue the game or the stress...or perhaps it was because his builds were not working as planned that tilted him...Regardless, DRG has an edge in longer series, as he tend to drag them out to the final games: 3:4 vs MMA, 4:3 vs Parting, 3:2 vs Gumiho....DRG has stamia(his girlfriend is very lucky! ^_~).

oh I know, and again, i understand nerves/stress/happiness probably interfered, and there was definitely alot of reason to be excited and hyped as a fan just because of what was on the line, but, i just felt like i needed to comment on "good games for closeness/entertainment" vs "good games for skill"

No they absolutely were not the most skillful games, with the possible exception of that +1 attack by Genius on Cloud Kingdom, that was.. well.. Genius. They were entertaining for several reasons:
1. Genius doing a lot of trickery.
2. The players mocking each other.
3. The crazy strats (carriers anyone?) which had me all excited thinking they would work.
4. Both likeable players with a ton of fans, and on the same team. I doubt I'm the only one who loved both of those players.

Entertaining, but not the best display of skill ever. Whilst I admire the pure skill of SC2 players more than anything, I don't get much enjoyment when a player with skill crushes one without (Nestea vs Inca...). The best thing is when two Titans of skill clash head to head, preferably without the game plan to just trick each other.

Edit: Great finals, but I'm reluctant to call it The Best finals.
