#1 Got to put up that hater barrier.
I already sent you a decent length message on twitch right after the finals were over. so I wont repost it here right now but maybe after another cast or checking out some of your vods ill have more.
Link us to these vods and if you have a youtube channel that as well so we can check out more of your work sir.

I'd say your doing a fine job. Experience will iron out any minor 'flaws' but frankly, the added high level insight and enthusiasm you show sets you up to keep on improving. Good work. Keep on keeping on.

I honestly haven't listened to your casting online but your commentary during the NYC LAN games that I heard sounded pretty good, and I assume it's gotten better since then if you've been working on improving it.

Hello Pokebunny,
i always regard you as a Professional-Starcraft 2 Player but your casting really surprised me! You're really good at casting I say! Try to present the game with more emotion. That's what I really love from the casters! And when there's a tense moment, make it even more tense!
Great cast! :-)

I really don't like you casting sorry but thats because I used to cast BW games myself One big thing I can tell you is to talk more and be more drama-like Thats one of the biggest things your lacking

Hey Pokebunny,
I wanted to get this post in here quickly before the thread becomes a series of flames.
I enjoy nearly everything about your casting. You are knowledgeable and keep the games entertaining. However, I feel that sometimes you cast very arrogantly, and it gets slightly annoying. Your introductions of the players for the games are what irk me the most. While introducing the players you seem to say everything you know about the players, and it seems a little "showoffy". When other casters on Playhem introduce players, they say a few things about that player (ie. This is Fraer, he plays in our tourneys a lot, he is good and I'm excited to watch this game). You tend to drag that stuff out with useless information such as "This is a player, he is Korean, he now lives in Germany, his favorite play style is this, yada yada yada". Way too long of an introduction, keep it short.
I do not think you are ready to solo cast. You are best co-casting with more veteran casters and hopefully that will help you out in the long run!

For only hearing you cast once today (playhem finals, dragon vs snuffe), I have to say you added a good level of analysis to the game and made good calls about what was happening. I don't know who was in charge of the camera, but there were moments where it just stopped moving or wasn't covering action that was happening half a screen away, but that could use some improvement.

Yeah, I wasn't the camera man.
I also don't really plan to solo cast, but I really enjoy casting alongside a more experienced caster.

Your knowledge of the game is good, but your voice makes my ear drums shatter. Please, get a voice changer so i can listen to your insight.
|
Extending from my twitch message.
Being that support knowledge role; Help the main caster with things other than the production tab. Help by throwing out worker counts, tech choices he might be missing while doing camera work, where chrono is going, where new expos are going (minimap watching), resource gathering rates, and the like.
Also maps are great talking point. Help in the early game when your partner has nothing to talk about, maps are easy to talk about. Explain 3rd/4th choices, key choke points, drop points, warp in abuse, overlord position ect. All these can be talked about during htat 6-15 food dead period before builds are recognized.
or maybe the build is out but they both went macro so it will be boring for another 4-5 min, take that time and throw out what you would have done had you seen this macro play. Would you cancel and got 1 base all in? Would you go even greedier with 3 base? Tech hard on 2?
---
Leave most of the action to the experienced caster. They are less likely to trip up on words, can string together talking easily, and know how to inject that enthusiasm without making is sound forced.
That's all I got for now. Let us know your casting schedule in addition to those youtube/vod links. I try to watch kibbelz and robin daily but if I see your name up there I may start tuning in to that as well.

your asking for feedback ill say this and im allowed to feel this way
when doing commentating or casting or anything of the vocal vocation, you cant just have any voice. your voice is imo not conducive to casting. people need to enjoy hearing you speak and its kinda hard to do that with your voice.
you cant say um and uh, this is something most people have and break the habit when seeking jobs on TV or whatever else but if you think you can do this you cant say filler words like that.
all being said there are many casters atm, since this is such a grass roots movement imo and nothing is SUPER official, who might not be qualified for casting but do anyway and so i guess you can most likely be a caster but i really, and i say this in the most honest blunt/non intended offensive way possible, cannot see you being a serious contender for serious casting

I don't claim to have a good casting voice though.

good stuff. id watch you cast any day. (and to the guy who said you give too long intros, i think its awesome to get some context in before game... better than awkward silence early game)
|
pokebunny! pokebunny! pokebunny! pokebunny! pokebunny! pokebunny! pokebunny! pokebunny! pokebunny!

Excellent. At times smallchat with you seems awkward, but that's not something one can consciously fix. Overall, excellent commentary.
|
You do very well however I feel like you take over the cast sometimes, you have to share the limelight when casting with a partner.
|
Excellent!!! Don't know what to add really, your casting is better than a vast majority of professional casters =)
|
Thank you to everyone for both praise and constructive criticism, I really do appreciate it!
|
How are you doing that when you sound like a robot? Edit: Oh wait nvm, it was a technical issue. That's hilarious.
Also it says "this content might be inappropriate" and you're under 18! Isn't that broken?
|
Hey, I'd like to say that you are a good caster. And that you seem to be excitable, which is good, very good, games are much more fun to watch when there's someone giving an intense play by play, (a la, football running back taking it to the house style) commentary. You could also use a better mic I think, get a better mic and just analyze the game. Make some predictions mid game, and then make light of them later and give us some pro insight. I really like watching your cast and hope to hear you more often! Keep up the good work!

go cast HSL games poke

The only thing I'm qualified to comment on is your voice. It sounds, well how can I say it, young and nerdy. It's not a very attractive voice. I have no idea how to fix the sound of your voice, honestly I think my own voice sounds horrible as well.
The only thing I can recommend is to record yourself saying a phrase over and over several times in a different "voice," kind of like an accent. Then listen to them and find the one that is audially most attractive. Then try to replicate that consistently and speak like that all the time. It's not easy.

Your insights into the game are great. I think it is very important that you are paired with a good personality type caster, though. I personally could listen to just you talk about Starcraft 2 all day, but i think others might find it a bit too draining (like going to sc2 school). Your analysis is so good though, I think with the right partner you'd be amazing.
As far as your voice goes... well you're 16. I wouldn't worry too much about sounding like you're 16. Getting older will remedy a lot of that, and that happens quicker than you'd think.
Then again part of me wants to tell you you're awful so that you'll focus on playing, that way I can watch you win some major tournaments and I can say I was a big fan before all the bandwagoners.
|
I watched your co-casting with Kibbelz on the EU daily yesterday and I think you did quite a good job. The only (minor) issue was that your microphone volume wasn't matched up against Kibbelz' so I either had to change the stream volume to have you at a normal level and Kibbelz really loud, or Kibbelz at a normal level and you really quiet. And at a few times it almost looked like the chat trolls got to you for a moment. Just ignore them. You can never please everyone, and especially not those who are complaining just for the sake of complaining. But other than that, excellent work and I look forward to seeing you casting again.

Isn't feedback a protoss spell? *ziiing*

There's nothing wrong with your voice, it's just your enunciation and projection.
You should join a toastmasters group, I think that would help you out immensely.

I think it was great. I watched a lot and found you pretty easy to listen to.

I don't like your voice/casting that much but at least you are knowledgeable to a degree and probably more so than most of the casters right now since you're at a high playing level.

I also think your casts are pretty enjoyable. Something minor I found is I find your microphone came off on a slight echoish tone at points... If there's a way to fix/improve this that'd be awesome! If you could interact with your casting partner, I feel like that'd be another way to improve your casts (as said above). You seem like a pretty nice guy from the times ive interacted/w u on ladder, if you can interact/w partner and express your personality more, I feel like your casting quality will improve a ton ^^. glgl~

Really good streaming during todays ONOG! To bad about the overlay in the first Snute match, but we missed nothing big so I guess it's OK!
|
You've got that 14 year old swag. Keep up the good work buddy!

Dude I'm watching you cast Playhem and Sheth is on, you are being really harsh and critical when the players make mistakes, phrases like "Why didn't he do x" or "I don't get it" or "he could/should do this". Yeah they are making errors, but be a bit more productive as you just come off across as an asshole.
You're just casting, he is controlling an army and an economy, imagine if you were playing, where is your attention and why is he not doing what you think he should be doing right now.
|
Crying about protoss while you cast, saying the players are stupid, the race is stupid etc.
Things you should avoid. Honestly you just sounded super upset with the protoss player. When you weren't crying, the casting was good though.
|
Hey, I made some critisisms of your casting of a Playhem about a month back, I've recently been watching your pro league re-streams and I really like what you're doing. Certainly the issues I had are not present. Nice One
