While I do think that Top Gun is not a fantastic movie, it is not the worst movie ever. Why? Because the film gives us some of the greatest lines in film history, lines that we quote today.
In case you forgot, I've created a list for you:
"Talk to me Goose."
"Yeee-haw Jester's Dead"
"That's right...Iceman... I am dangerous."
And here is the follow up to being dangerous.
Mr. Bitter, I love it when you cast with your magnet friendly co-caster Rotterdam, but you do not get to insult Top Gun by calling it the worst film of all time. Especially since Episode I was re-released..in 3D.
I support this, to the young guys of this forum and i'm only 28 this film was important to a generation.
It might not be the best movie ever, you can even say it's bad but don't ever call it the worst movie ever.. come on? worst...
In my opinion it is a great movie, the action scenes lack some fire and special effects now but if you think it's cheasy it's because it's been copied to death...
I forgive you Mr.Bitter but you should apologize ;D

......................................... that is sad in multiple ways I wouldn't say Top Gun is a great movie either but I definitely think it's good. lol

3D is bad, but Top Gun in 3D ? Yeah that would be really the worst rework of a film.
I only love top gun because of the NES game i was playing when i was a kid. I never finished the second stage and it took me month to land the plane correctly on the first one.
6.6 on IMDB, which without the 80s nostalgia bonus is more like a 5.6, and since val kilmer is in it, let's call it a straight 4.6. and 4.6 movies aren't good
oh, also, it's american fascist propaganda, so let's make it a 3.6. not so far off from gigli!

Also as someone pointed out, Episode I 3D, it hurtz!
Did you know on the USS Midway in San Diego they play clips of Top Gun and have Danger Zone playing? Its near the flight simulators too. After getting pumped up from the awesomeness, my brother and I went on the flight simulators and then proceeded to break it. And they gave us a free ride since it broke.
