so I dont know if I should start a new thread or not, but here it goes in this one anyways.
I need some ideas as the marriage proposal plan I had is not longer viable do to visa issues. I had planned a private sunset cruise @key west with live music and dinner and was planning to propose at that moment. Due to some visa problems key west is out of the option for now,
I still would like to propose soon as I will be traveling to the country where she lives, and I once used to live. but now Im kinda clueless of how to do it since my 1st plan is gone.
consider the following things:
I will be renting an apartment studio for the time of me being there. She will leave her mothers house and stay with me at this apt while im there. I will be in a city that has no beach and is far away from beaches. The city is not a big metropolis city, medium size city I guess. I do have some knowledge of local places but its somewhat limited. city is known to be a party city. many nigh clubs bars etc Money is not a huge deal, as I had plan to spend usd 2k or so, which in local currency can do a lot!
About her:
she is a simple laid back girl she doesnt like really expensive fancy things , she is more into saving, and not wasting she like romance, but she is not one of those hopeless romantic type of girls. she doesnt like flowers and flower arraignments likes chocolates enjoys live music
those are some of the relevant things I can think of the top of my head. Also she will be working during morning time unil lunch so I do have some time to prepare surprises and stuff.
I just need some ideas or opinions on how to do a good romantic proposal :D any help is greatly appreciated since i cant really make up my mind and stop thinking on the key west thing
Well if she is laid back, not hopeless romantic and conservative about money dont go over the top. Where is somewhere that she holds special? (+1 if its somewhere you and her share). You plan a fun yet simple evening, get on your knee and tell her your feelings (from your heart, do not over think/pre plan this).
The pressure you place on the girl is so awkward thatt you really shouldn't. Unless! You two have already talked about the concept of marriage and she seems extremely thrilled about the idea, please don't. There is nothing wrong with doing it in a private setting because it gives time for a serious moment, a large group standing/sitting by you guys that will clap and scream only ruins the special moment. (I think anyways)

I've never really been that big of a "proposal" type of guy, I find that it is just a over hyped money grab. Personally, I have always thought of putting the money that you then spend on a 5000 or w.e dollar ring on a downpayment for a house/car/something that both of you could use to better your lives together.

I'm married and me and my wife did a very cheap proposal and marriage. Now I'm not a cheap bastard, me and her both have a lot of bills to pay. I definitely will surprise her on our anniversary, but she knows that NEEDS come before wants. I'm just glad she's not materialistic.
well i'm not sure how much it would cost, however you could look up sky writing. Have them write will you marry me (gf's name here). and proceeding this tell her when you get to someplace that is decently high up that you have something that you would like to show her, but its a secret till you get there.

I agree, no matter how you do it, she has to feel comfortable in the situation to give you her honest answer. So do not ask her in the presence of other people. If you put her in a situation like that it might work against you because it is direspectful towards your partner.

1. Convince her you made it into an important SC tourney. 2. Make her watch your stream of it. 3. Prepare a cute movie with a probe (her) and an SCV (you) of how you two met instead. Do not include any flowers. 4. Propose to her via stream after the movie ends in a romantic shot of the SCV kneeling down to propose to the probe. 5a. Break up with her because she wasn't watching. 5b. Pack up your things and leave.
