I always wanted to do something special for my 1k posts, but well, i'm afraid i don't have anything special to contribute to the community (also i'm not very creative), so i figured i would just thank everyone at TL with all my heart.
When i went to high school in my free time i would always listen to a radio called Rock FM. It was the only radio in Italy broadcasting rock music, and by rock i mean anything from blues to black metal. It really changed my music culture and the way i look at music; among other things, i decided to stop downloading music and now i am the proud owner of a LOT of cd's and lp's. So much better than a file on a pc.
I loved it because you could feel a sense of deep passion and love for what they were doing: rather than just playing a random playlist, they would comment on albums, concerts, tours, give news, play a full freakin song rather than cutting after 3 minutes, playing many artists that are good but not famous...anyway, i'm writing this because TL reminds me of that radio.
You just feel the love for the game and for esports that so many people here have, and that's awesome. I really wish i had discovered starcraft and TL sooner. Better late then never i guess.
So, in no particular order, thanks to:
The TL staff for creating this amazing community and managing it so well. Special thanks to the mods for keeping their mental sanity, especially while modding LR threads, i think i would probably turn into a blood-thirsty psycho in their place.
Totalbiscuit, Husky and HD for first getting me into Starcraft 2. Every other commentator out there for all the content they bring us spectators.
Every player that streams on Liquid, especially Tyler, InControl, Grubby, BabyKnight, Hero, Huk, White-Ra, Mana (guess what race i play >.<), DeMuslim, TLO, Ret, ForGG for providing hours and hours of entertainment free.
The blue posters in the Strategy forums, especially the awesome brotoss NrGMonk, Alejandrisha, Kcdc, CecilSunkure and iS.Time for telling me wtf to do in my games and why it's good to do so, especially Plexa for his mothership PvP thread. To this day it's my go-to build when i'm bored.
Sayle for getting me into Brood War and making me realize how awesome Khan is. Even though i don't play bw, it's amazing to watch and his commentary is awesome, <3
All the news staff for all the tournament recaps, both from bw and sc2.
Nazgul for being a freakin geniousnerdawesomeballer and having the best team in the world. Seriously if somehow i was good enough to be a pro, i would pick TL over any other team no matter what.
Nevake for all the vods he has on his youtube channel, such good education for us newbies.
Blazinghand for the awesome Blood and Metal blog posts. I hope to see more in the future
Orome for consistently smashing my ass in practice for months. I'm finally getting close though!
edit: i forgot the Liquipedia staff and contributors, silly me.
Well, thanks for an amazing year, looking forward to many many more to come! Long live Brood War, Sc2 and esports in general!
