Hey guys,
I just got home from college and have been playing a lot of starcraft 2(around 20 games a day), but over time I start to get these pains in a specific part of my head(just above the left part of my forehead) and its enough to make my head cringe while playing. Now I regularly take water/stretch/bathroom/look outside breaks every hour, but it still occurs after around 2 hours of play time.
Anyone have any ideas on how to prevent this head pain?

Out of curiosity, what is the lighting like in the room you are playing in?

I have a lamp or an overhead light on all the time. It lights up the room.

It sounds like you don't do anything wrong, if this doesn't stop within the next few days/maybe weeks you should go see a doctor just to be sure.
Make sure you eat healthy(hard at christmas days, I know) and to sleep enough!

I generally get 7-9 hours of sleep. But on my eating habits, I generally don't pay attention to it. I'll generally have cereal and a banana for breakfast, theres no consistency with lunch but I do eat it, and I almost always have a healthy dinner.

Try taking rests in between games, close your eyes for a while.

Suppose you're on the the computer for two consecutive hours using the internet or something. Do you still get that pain, or only when playing sc2?

try lowering your brightness while playing
|
I had some headaches while at my PC. I bought glasses (after talking with doctor ofc) and it get better

Some things you might want to do, including some that other people have already mentioned:
- Lower your monitor brightness, don't use a CRT (lol) - Make sure your room is well lit. - Always have water within reach. - Keep some food on hand, it might be a blood sugar problem. Things like celery, apples, etc. not cheetos lol - Might be an eyestrain problem, see above post. - After every single game, look away from your comp and just stare at the wall for a few seconds. - Pop an Advil.

Take a couple ibuprofen b4 u play it will probly prevent headaches

Might be eyestrain, especially if it's related only to computer use. Can be helped by using correct glasses, but it also means you are stressing your eyes too much and need to take breaks. The symptoms become worse when aging, especially if the computer use it not controlled in any way. There are also some practical things you can try, such as not keeping your screen too near. Try 1m distance, for instance. Lower the screen brightness; use very minimal brightness settings. It looks annoying at first, but you'll get used to it. Avoid having bright light sources behind the screen, such as a window. Another possibility is that it is a bad working position and/or a neck problem, those can often manifest as headaches.

Maybe eyes drops. Sometimes even though your eyes don't feel dry they are. and that can cause headaches.

Does anyone still use a CRT?
