(You might have seen me-- shortish girl with red hair, usually wearing a too-big black jacket over a pink Penn hoodie cause I was really cold all weekend.)
I left Friday afternoon at 3:00 for NYC. My megabus got stuck in traffic, and a 2 hour bus ride became 5. It sucked, lol. My best friend met up with me when I finally got in (<3 for standing around for about 2 hours waiting for me in the cold). Then we took the train back to Brooklyn and immediately packed up his car and left.
We stopped at a reststop after we got out of the city and grabbed some hamburgers, but I was so sad when the next exit we passed turned out to have an Arby's. I am addicted to curly fries, but there are none near where I live, so I haven't had them in a year now. We decided to stop there on the way back. We got in around 12:30, and checked in to the Hampton. Immediately passed out.
Next morning we went down to eat breakfast and saw a couple of people playing sc2 on a laptop in the lobby area. Funnily enough every time we passed by there over the weekend, they were still sitting there playing. I don't know if they even went to the convention center at all, lol.
We picked up our Spectator wristbands around 11, and went in. Shortly after it was announced that Tasteless and Artosis were doing a signing. We were really fast to get in line, and I chatted a bit with the girl in front of me. I didn't really know what to say to either of them once I got up there except thanks (wish I was cooler than that :D lol).
We wandered back towards the playing area where I spotted Sheth, and spent quite a while watching him practice (like a creeper). I waved to him awkwardly when he got up after he was done, and he waved back, but I was too starstruck to ask for his autograph then.

If you don't know me, let me just assure you that I am probably Sheth's biggest fangirl, and obsess over him probly a little too much. My entire goal of Providence was to get my TL shirt signed by him.
Around 1:30 we left to find lunch, and went to a little hamburger bar down the street (forgot what it was called, but you build your own burger and it was fucking deliciousssssssssssss). After we were almost finished a couple of vVv guys walked in but I didn't recognize any of them.
I was getting worn out so we went back and took a nap at the hotel (which ended up being 4 hours). I'm glad we went then though, because the really good games definitely started to happen towards the evening, and otherwise I would have been too tired to stay. We sat on the floor and stayed through the end. I also did some wandering and got lots more signatures. Back by the brackets table behind the player area it turns out there were quite a few players hanging around.
I spotted Sheth standing in a circle talking to some people he knew, and came up and stood by the side waiting for them to be done talking so I could ask him to sign my shirt. The conversation ended a bit abruptly and he turned around to go back into the player area without seeing me. I think I probably looked completely heartbroken, cause all of the other guys in the circle were like-- "Sheth, Sheth, Sheth come back; she wants you to sign her shirt".
So of course being really nice he turns back around and I have a complete star-struck moment where I drop just about everything I have multiple times before getting it all together and holding out my shirt and sharpie. He signed it real quick and went back in the player area and I just about cried, seriously I was so excited.
Then I spotted Destiny and then Tyler. I was really nervous to go up to Tyler because he always says how much he hates being bothered by anyone at tournaments. Then someone else went up and asked him for a signature, and he didn't seem bothered by it so I asked too. I guess he probably wouldn't just be standing around outside of the player area not doing anything if he didn't want to be talked to, so it was alright.
After the games ended for the evening we headed down past Brown's campus to find all the restaurants, and ended up going to a nicer one that we were way underdressed for (but didn't care). I got a stuffed squid thing... which was really good and looked a bit scarrier than it turned out to be.
Afterwards we just ended up going back to the hotel and crashing (which I wish we could have gotten to meet up with people but oh well). We were both much more tired than we realized from school and work.
Sunday was really long. I got Hot_Bid to signature-bomb my shirt (and he was like OH it's you... and I was like :D HI). I also got up the courage to snag Huk and ask for his signature even though he was not in the mood. He said he would sign three things only (the guy next to me got his wallet signed, which was really cute and had a probe cutout taped to it). Leenoch was standing a bit away and signing a few things for people, but I didn't recognize him then so I didn't go over to get his signature (and then I wished I did later).
I talked to a lot to a few guys sitting in the chairs next to where I was sitting on the floor, and they let me sit with them whenever someone would make a Dr. Pepper run. We got to see the proposal (super cute). And I bumped into Enervate for a few minutes also. He asked me if I was going to come to the afterparty shinanigans which made me T_T cause I couldn't.
As soon as the finals finished we rushed back to the hotel and got our car to drive back. I had 9 a.m. class today so we wanted to hurry... Unfortunately it was raining, and there was traffic, and we didn't get back to NYC until around 1:30, so we decided to just keep driving to Philly instead of getting up after 45 minutes of sleep for a 3:00 train (it was really expensive to take a later one). Got in about 4:00, which sucked (thanks for driving all that way Evan <3), but was good to be back home.
I definitely want to go again. :D I think it would be much more fun with more chairs and if I didn't have to be back so early on a Monday morning. Also if I was less tired and could go to the afterparties and meet up with more TL peeps. :D
I will take my TL shirt back with me next time I go for more signatures! :D
