My uncle had a brain stem stroke. He was a really great guy. I wanted to know him better. He isn't like the rest of my family. Came from a really poor family, all of his siblings got screwed up. his mother is suffering from depression. He was all she really had left.
I really wanted to meet the guy. Heck, last time I saw him I barely said goodbye. He helped change the tire on my car. He was a bit overweight, but a healthy 6'8" man.
Death can be so sudden. People can say about how sick I am. Etc. But it's sure as heck better than being dead.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow This memory brightens o'er the past; as when the sun, concealed; behind some cloud that near us hangs; shines on a distant field.
Really devastating. But it shows there is a lot more to be worried about than college apps ://
He died because he was sent to a shitty hospital. Had the paramedics taken him somewhere with a stroke center he could have been ok. But he sat around with an incompetent physician for 9 hours in the ghettos of SoCal, if there is such athing.
Damn you US emergency care. Damn you.

RIP
Our feeble and profiteering health care industry have took too many good people away from us. A random online guy's regard is pointless, but still my best wishes to his mother.

Sorry to hear, best wishes to you and your family, especially his mother.

RIP from this random online guy's regard as well.
I hope Uncle Henry stays with your thoughts and you find ways to smile in your remembrance.

I hope he lived well. In the end that's what matters.

I really agree on your point about the "there is a lot more to be worried about than college apps" point. Life is sometimes too stressed over a few things and make us unable to put attention to other things that probably are as significant
R.I.P. I am sure he is glad to know that his pass away has led you to learn you a bit more about life. (hope I get this sentence correct and doesn't sound too weird)

When I was in the ER for appendicitis (which can easily kill someone if not treated immediately), 2 people died in the room with me for what seemed like such trivial things.
Really you can die at any moment. I wanted to write something positive to counter this, but really it's just a neutral fact. Ponder it however you will.

It's sudden deaths like this from strokes in critical areas of the brain that really make me want to go into neurosurgery. As a former paramedic, I realize how devastating this can be, but I've never experienced it to someone close to me.
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you do realize that it wasn't the incompetent physicians, but the lack of good health infrastructure (probably academic hospitals in the area) that delayed your uncle's care. Hopefully your faith in the healthcare system is one day renewed.

Sorry to hear that Death always makes people think twice about the life we live.
Rest in peace
