I've recently picked up a typing course to learn how to type correctly. I was wondering though, do you guys use the same fingers for both?

Sorry for the lack of content but this question is really bugging me!
edit: seems like some people understand me and some don't, I meant your hand positioning and the fingers you use to press certain keys while playing starcraft and not just ingame chat.
e.g. I put fingers on qsdf (asdf for qwerty) for typing now but I always had them on shift-q-z-d (shift-a-w-d for qwerty) for playing starcraft.

I use grid hotkeys, so I keep my ring/middle/index on Q/W/E so they can just roll up and down when needed. Seems more efficient than jumping around the keyboard to me.

I don't understand the question, are you asking how I type while playing SC? If so, then I use both hands if im typing more that "gg" or "u2" during a match.

glad I am not the only one worrying about this.
I always position my left hand one key to the left (meaning the index is on D, rather than G) because of all the FPS games.
and since recently I got my mechanical keyboard, I tried out some typing software and realised how annoying this habit is.
I kind of have to give up trying to improve my typing speed, not that it is bad but I just wished it was a bit faster ><

I actually learnt how to type as a kid through Starcraft. Each mission I try to type Power overwhelming as fast as possible. And then type all other cheats slowly xD

I have bad habits from sc. I do ring finger for 1 sometimes, and I use left index for six

I do shift-a-w-d (qwerty) if that makes since. That is because of the thousands of hours I spent on other games prior to SC. (WoW mostly  ) where that was my positioning. (a-w-d for movement)
I type normal though.

I play BW instead, but with playing SC2 I do the same as in BW whenever I actually play that game. And it's different from when I am typing, as I need different keys more frequently.

I just have three fingers on my keyboard for SC2. One on 4, one on S and one on D.

Shift-asd for me, commonly. I mean, waypoints, control group assigmnents, select larva, drones, and attack move. Duh.
Edit: Oh wait, it might actually be shift-sdf. Anyway, shift is my pivot.
