Hey, on their stream right now, SEN was playing with an AZK tag on his name? Does anyone have a good explanation for this? I can probably assume that he has the tag there in exchange for travel accommodations. ALSO, GUS is giving his statement right now on the stream twitch.tv/csntv

EDIT: He completely avoided addressing any of the issues brought against his organization, except that he is "sorry that he couldn't live up to IGN's standards"

They're playing on SEA server and most of the pros don't have accounts there so they're using AZK accounts.

Yes, but most tournaments use overlays that have the players' normal IDs on them because they wouldn't want to suggest that the players were switching teams or something. They included the AZK tags in the overlays.

He also made a note of saying he thought they still managed to "pull it off" so he clearly lives in another plane of reality

Actually, they did do that for the sen/mc match, guess somebody got too lazy/was too tired to do it for the next match. Anyway, let's just try to enjoy the games If Rachel/Tastosis/staff can deal with all the shit there and still keep it positive, why not us who are just watching?

Not hating, but all of them don't have a choice because they are contracted to do it; while I think boycotting is one of the most civil ways to protest.

Even though they're contracted to hype the event, it still takes some major effort to not go completely ballistic and just bail out but instead try to make things work amidst all the complaints and hate. Maybe I just don't have high standards but after all the fuck ups yesterday I'm just glad I got a watchable (for me) stream today and got to see some good games. I agree on the boycott part though, this is the last AZK run event that I'll be watching in a while.

I feel really, really sorry for all the players and organisations that got completely and totally screwed over by AZK. The fact that they cancelled the Cube player's flight in what seems to be a petty move to deny a rival Filipino clan from getting any exposure speaks volume about their character and integrity. The same thing goes for YoonYJ, as soon as TArga wasn't able to attend it seems that AZK took the opportunity to recoup some money and not follow through on what they were contracted to do. I haven't watched the tournament in light of these revelations (along with the evidence of poor organisation and production quality). I hope that the international community essentially Blacklists AZK and its organisers from competing or organising future events. International teams should decline future invitations and not participate in future qualifiers etc.

As a Filipino myself, this embarrassing display from our community truly saddens me, and the actions of Gus sicken me. Unfortunately, the getting ahead of others at whatever cost mentality is still prevalent here, especially in politics. The younger generation is changing, but I guess this guy doesn't want to.

I know what you mean. While I am not trying to say that Indonesia and the Philippines (or many, many others for that matter) are the same, there are undeniable similarities in that overwhelming attitude to get ahead at any cost by screwing over everyone else. It's incredible frustrating to have to deal with (my girlfriend is from Indonesia and I go there regularly) this attitude which permeates society from top to bottom. For example, in Jakarta if you want to park your car on the street someone will come up and start telling you how to get into the spot and directing you into a spot whether you want (or need it) or not. They expect to get paid as well whether or not you needed their help. And the kicker is that if you don't pay them they will scratch or damage your car for it. It's not that they ask for a lot of money, more so it is the way if which you are forced into this agreement. That's just one example.

I demand, IPL 5 SEA qualifier to be in Australia and handled by Dox. I also demand the event to not be held next to Cinnabuns and Sobarros.

Wow this was sickening to read.

Blizzard took responsibility to license tournaments for quality control - I think it's time for them to act.

Thank you for taking the time put this all together and for letting everyone know the facts. I think we can all agree that a lot of hardworking well-meaning people were taken advantage of by one unsavory individual, and our community will not tolorate such blatant unprofessionalism.

This agression will not stand, man.

I'm talking about a line in the sand, dude.

Great blog, a shame that you got screwed over by some of the typical people that ruin the progress of esports for everyone else. To be honest from your post, it sounds like they should've had you running the event!
