Damn, it's been a long time. More than a month in fact. You might ask why. Well, I requested a ban from Chill (thanks so much for that: I actually studied instead of posting on TL.net). So, a lot of things have been happening, and I don't even know where to start. Because it's been a long time.
Firstly, TL.net looks cool. By that I mean, I like the new changes to the site, and it looks clean and orderly. So that's awesome. And congratulations HuK. Even though you left Liquid, you'll still be HuK, and I'll always root for you. And congratulations Artosis! Good luck with your kid.
So what have I been up to? Well, I've been studying, and doing my classes. I have a 99 average in my calculus class (lol, I don't really do anything, but other people are failing). I played my violin a lot during my self-imposed exile. I'm currently playing Wienwiaski's Scherzo Tarrantella and Mozart's Concerto in D major. Both pieces are nice but I can't say that I truly love either one. I heard my friend play some Chopin last night, and it was amazing. I also loved Praedellium and Allegro (another one of my friends played it last night, and it was also good. I like it, because it is just beautiful.
Here are the pieces with pretty good performances (I think). Vengerov is amazing.

I dunno, I guess last night I discovered that I really did love music. I'm not a very emotional person (the last time I cried was a long time ago, probably when I cut open my knee. I feel that music is probably the best way to express my emotions. I don't like playing Mozart because, well, I feel it's too "happy". I want to be able to express my unhappy side.
I've been playing a lot of Fire Emblem (Rekka no Ken, or Blazing Sword). I love that game. Hector is a beast of a unit, if only he could be promoted a bit earlier. I'm very fond of glass cannon units as well, so Lucius is my favorite mage. Can't take a hit but if you touch anything it dies? That's my kind of unit.
I just took the SATS today. My thoughts: it was a load of horseshit. I have something against the company that does this, and it makes me angry to even think about it.
I dunno what else to say. How was your month TL?

It's a calc 1 course, so I don't really have much to brag about. IMO, the intro year to calculus is very easy. New things might include vectors, polar graphing, more work with imaginary numbers, and I can't think of anything else lol.
My friend is taking college courses at a local Ivy, and he has the second highest grade in the class for his multivariable calculus class, so he has stuff to brag about.
I should have mentioned this in the OP, but I finally got into silver from bronze! Macro, macro macro.

i've only taken advanced functions, i took a bit of calc but dropped out after a few weeks(high school was generally bad for me). i was just wondering what it's like compared to adv functions? do you basically just calculate rates of change, and area under a graph, and derivatives? i'm looking for what the skill set is in calc...like in Symbolic logic all you need to do is deductions and have a good grasp of the rules and equivalencies. what would i need for intro calc?

I'm taking calculus as my math course for this year (yea I guess I'm ahead in math by a couple of years. A lot of kids in my grade would be taking algebra 2 I think?).
I dislike the SAT for several reasons:
1. It claims to emulate the stress of college. Nope. Not a chance.
2. It doesn't measure how smart, or intelligent someone is. All it measures is how well you can beat the system, which I think is a flawed method of testing.
3. You pay money to take the test. You pay more money to send scores to multiple colleges. Pay more money if you don't get it right the first time. And it's the only test other than the ACT, which doesn't really do anything differently (yea, it's supposed to be an achievement test, but it isn't really IMO).
4. I've seen smart kids get poor scores on the SAT, and I've seen dumber kids (by far) get really good scores.
5. I find this annoying: SAT makes tests, then sells books that teach you how to pass the test. LOL.
I'm against standardized testing because it's a flawed system, IMO. I bullshitted the AP exams and got 5's on them (biology and chemistry). I took not a single practice exam for the chemistry test. My strategy: go as fast as you can, and then mentally vomit on the free-response.

Based on their school grades, and by attempting to help them with schoolwork. Some kids are really dense, while other aren't. It's pretty obvious to me, because I personally know these kids.
