Hiyo,
my gf and I love cooking together, and because I'm a huge sc2 fan and spend alot of my time watching korean streams & using korean streaming software like Daum (which I can hardly understand at all), she has suggested that we cook some korean food.
I'm asking for some suggestions for delicious meals (say, lunch or dinner) that you guys know of and that are not impossible to cook for a nonkorean. I live in Edmonton, Canada, so it's a major city and I feel I can probably obtain ingredients as long as they're not incredibly obscure.
Maybe if I get some good ideas I'll do a cooking battle report for them, with pics and stuff

Make bibimbap it's relatively easy to make and there are several cooking guides on youtube. I can also suggest beef bulgogi or chicken bulgogi depending on your preferences.

I would put together some bibimbap (pibimbap to some). It's simple to make, but is fucking awesome.
The Soon Tofu from Chill's cooking blog linked above is also awesome.
Definitely get some Korean marinated short ribs if you can. That stuff is Korea's second best export, next to pro BW.
Also try looking up a recipe for Korean pancakes. I recommend adding LOTS of green onion and a mix of seafood (octopus, mussel, scallops, etc).
That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Any kind of Korean meat is amazing provided you marinate it the Korean way, which is with lots of sugar, garlic and soy sauce.

Bulgogi isn't really hard, and you don't have to buy expensive meats for it since you're gonna be cutting it up small. Make your own sauce though, I tried store bought (from an american supermarket) the first time, and while its okay, its not that delicious bulgogi flavor.

Yook Gae Jang is probably my favorite soup so far. Beef and vegetable.

May I suggest 계란찜/Gyeran jjim (steamed eggs)? They're very good and not that complicated. However, you do have to simmer it slowly or else you won't get the smooth, flat surface you often find in restaurants.

From the few Korean dishes that I have had, I can tell you that spicy bulgogi is the bomb, especially when it is still sizzling in your plate. The other guys have some great suggestions, but remember that pretty much any of the meals needs some white rice and kim chi (this one is vital) on the side, or its just not Korean.

Jesus Christ, did you have to do that? You couldn't have at least spoilered them? Now I realized how hungry I was and how hard I worked to forget it

All those pictures of Dolsot (stone bowl, I just know how to say korean, not write english :/) are making me extremely jealous!!
Does anyone know of a good source to buy a dolsot from online for a decent price? At my nearest Korean market, they average to be around $20-$30 USD. Any advice would be much appreciated!
