Where did this shit come from?
Back in 2009' there was no esports hurting in place and now if somebody does something out of line he is immediately hurting esports.
You may as well change the motto to something like:
Don't always tell the truth because you might be hurting esports!
If something is wrong don't complain right away because you might be hurting esports...
This is silly because actually it's the same as don't pay taxes because your taxes finance army weapons and so you are actually hurting people.
Next thing we know people are going to be calling others esport terrorists...
What I mean is that we had 10 years of esports without esports hurting... well actually if someone did hurt esports at some point it have never been the fans.
And we survived through it - we survived through Kespa issues, Savior's scandal...
Maybe we didn't think we would at first but we did.
Although right now I'm quite skeptical about the direction SC2:HOTS is going I think we all need just to have some more faith.

I'd say the quote "Don't hurt esports" because in reality by having adblock on you're not supporting TeamLiquid by not giving advertisement revenue which in the end supports both the website and the professional team.

If I were to take this seriously, TL makes money from ads, TL sponsors tournaments, therefore if you have ad blocker on you decrease the chances of tournaments.
I don't truly understand why people use ad blockers that kill banners though, they really don't interrupt the viewing pleasure of the website and if they do, chances are because I saw something in the ads which made me leave the site to see what they are. So wouldn't it just help everyone if you just took your ad blocker off and "helped a brotha out?"

Removing adblock on TL disables adblock for every stream I try to watch on TL. The banner ads I didn't mind ignoring, but stream ads make me sadder than Elly

Stream ads are an important source of income for professional gamers! I hereby invoke the Esports Penalty from Elly the Elephant in November Act (EPEEN Act for short) to quote you with great dismay! I will smite you repeatedly with my EPEEN until you realize that many streamers, notably Destiny and Day[9], rely on stream ads for their livelihood. If you are going to use adblock when watching their streams, that's fair, but bear in mind that if everyone did this, these folks would have to get day jobs and there would be far less awesome content for you to view. I hope my use of EPEEN has shown you the light.

I was just watching WRA stream with adblock on when I saw the ad. Teary-eyed elephant made me switch browser (usually use opera, firefox just when I need adblock). Obviously if you like watching someone's stream you should watch it with ads - they give you the stream, you give something in return by watching the ad.
I'm usually just pissed on bad usage of ads. I see 10 featured streams up, I decide to go thru them all to see if some of them has more important stuff going on. I can't do this without adblock since you'd have to wait 20sec to see that 3sec glimps, repeat 10x. So adblock has its use, but I just try to switch back to watching with opera (non adblock) once I know what has better content coming. It'd be cool if there was no starter-ad ever, then there wouldn't be need for adblock either.

I usually try to remember to turn off adblock on TL, but sometimes forget...but seeing Elly cry always breaks my heart. =)

if you dont feel like supporting the player youre watching then just click on "view on twitch.tv" or whatever -> no ads there

I think he is just saying that with the current usage of esports for everything now days it's getting out of hand  . But than It's understandable tl.net isn't running for free and it needs add to generate some revenue to pay for the web hosting.
