My plan is to buy the battle chest which contains the original game and the first expansion, then make my friend have parental controls (in case I get addicted) so I can only play 1-2 hours a day(1 hour if that is enough for doing at least one quest). The reason why I want to buy it is because it seems pretty braindead and that's just what I need: a game to just mindlessly chill with one hour a day!  But really, if you want to play for levelling, it may be useful to try Vanilla private server.. as it is much more of a challenge there than the current vanilla and tbc content, and the content is optimized in that you can enjoy the best designed areas(the vanilla ones) the most | ||

As far as the time it takes, I have no idea where people are getting these 20-40 hour estimates. I recently just leveled a Rogue to 85 and it takes about 60 - 80 hours with bonus experience gain from items and a guild. A player with no bonus experience gain I would guess would take an extra 30 - 40 hours on top of that - so you're looking at 4 - 5 days played time honestly. | ||
