This blog is so true. Is it 2:30 AM and I *really* should falling asleep? Lay there staring at the ceiling thinking about the most random things and worrying about not falling asleep. Is it 1:30 PM and chem lecture? Eyes droop...

This completely blew my mind. STORY OF MY LIFE T_T

Just finished reading. I'm blown away by the amount of information Micro typed up for all of us in that thread. While reading I discovered that a lot of things I do on a regular basis (reading/doing schoolwork in bed for one) is apparently a mistake. Not to mention the idea that I need to "wind-down" before I get myself in the position to actually fall asleep.
I have a lot of adjusting to do, but I feel more relieved now that I've read all of that. Thanks for the link, whatthefat. It never ceases to amaze me the wealth of information this site has on such a wide range of topics.

this is so true and I feel like I've been this way for a decade, ever since I got into computer games. It probably all has to do with the screens and electromagnetic radiation or something...

To stay awake in class i usually bring a small flashdrive (swivels instead of clicks) and play with that absent-mindedly to keep myself moving, and stay awake.
Also, reading teamliquid =3

I have no idea how I make it to work alive every morning. My eyes are already half-closed on the major collector road, and when I hit the highway (and when the endless cycle of 110km/h on open sections and 10km/h on congested sections) I'm probably half-unconscious. Dozing off on the wheel is bad guys don't do it >_< I'm trying to be fresh every morning but I do not drink coffee before my drive (it makes me want to pee wayyy too often). I get a good 7-hour sleep every night though, so I don't know what else I can do...

I'm going to try and exhaust all non-drug related methods before I buy anything like melatonin. For the same reason as you, I don't want to depend on anything to allow me to sleep, that's always made me pretty nervous about taking drugs in general.
