So, I finally got my 1,000 win zerg achievement.. yay..
But alas, I'm stuck in platinum.. Well.. maybe not stuck, but subconsciously, I think I want to be there.. this is my cycle and I'd be interested to know if anyone else intentionally or subsciously does this..
I win a lot with zerg and can get to #1 in my division very easily with enough games played.. but what I do once I hit #1 is this.. I offrace.. I play terran and play poorly.. and lose. When i get tired of losing with terran, I switch to toss and lose some more.. Then I get tired of losing, play zerg and go on 15 game winstreaks.. I start playing diamond/masters players and then switch to terran again.. lose some more.. and on and on.. I think I'm afraid to get promoted subconsciously or something, i dont know.. I enjoy terran the most but stink with them.. and I'm almost as bad with toss..
so, does anyone else do this? I really think I need to buckle down and try and hit diamond but I think my MMR has me permanently in platinum.. I dont think I'll ever be promoted.

Same situation for me! In beta I was placed in plat...and am still there haha.

I just switched to zerg permanently after going on huge loss streaks and growing to hate the playstyle of Terran. I feel like this in real life too. Forever mediocre!

imo the easiest way for you to get promoted is to stop off racing as Torte said, gz on 1k wins! gl with getting promoted.

Your MMR is more volatile than your points, so if you keep winning against diamonds then you will get promoted (eventually).
Also, if you like Terran the most, just switch. No big deal if you even go down to gold right?

Well, if you're having fun that's what its about. I guess my problem is that as a Platinum player I dislike the way you play. If I play you as zerg it'll say we're even, but you'll smash me. (I'll never have a chance) then if you off race I won't learn anything. If you want to off race you should almost buy another account. Have your zerg account be dia/ masters, then have a gold/plat off race account.

I've considered getting another account ($39.99 now) but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.. I play a lot late at night while tired, drinking, etc and lose that way.. i think that maybe 2 accounts would be good for that reason.. sober? main account.. offrace/drunk/tired? smurf account..
maybe i will get another account for messing around.. only problem would be my wife killing me for having 2 of the same game..
