You should arrange an accident where your boss sees your phone get wet and also sees it's clearly not your fault.

On a sidenote:

the only chance for your phone to work again is letting it dry completely. This can take between 12 and 24 hours. Even longer if it was lots of water like in your case.

You should take the battery of the phone immediately and dry the sole parts for 24 hours straight. Call in sick or something in order to get home if you don't wanna tell.

I'm sure you already know since you work in cell phone biz, but stick it in a bowl of dry rice for an extended period of time to absorb leftover moisture. Use a vacuum to suck wetness out if you need to (dont use a hair dryer).

edit- damn you should know better than to try and turn it on after it got soaked.

Well yes I do, But the fact is I've allready told my boss what happened, Aswell as bought a new phone online, So thought it could not hurt either way, Boss didnt get angry. The fact that it actually happened and he saw the cellphone and it wasnt just a excuse for me loosing it, he was surprised I wasnt lying as more ppl have actually lied about this because they've lost their cell. Lol Either way I think it will be fine. Still a shame but people can get unlucky :/

Well nothing got lost except for some important phone numbers, but atleast they can be replaced

and the sd card was totally fine :D but learned my lesson xD

Atleast know your boss knows you dare to tell the truth to him. You could have easily lied about it being stolen or lost. Props to you for being honest

its all right i had a brand new zune get sucked into the toilet.. it was like less than a week old

couldn't even fish it out cause it was the small thin one T_T glad to see you got your problem resolved though

ps your story helped me talk about this because i was so embarrassed about what happened that no one knows about this aside from my mom and one of my friends, so ty for helping me come to terms with this. i know this sounds kind of retarded but it was a pbig deal to me... uh yeah

May want to look this up but supposedly if you put electronics in a bowl of rice or something it will absorb some of the moisture, I have not tried it myself though.

This is true but only works to a certain extent. Obviously, water doesn't damage electronics directly, but it causes shorts. If the phone is turned off when it gets wet, then taking the battery out and putting it in a bowl of rice for a while should help.

If it's already on when it falls in the water, there's a good chance the electronics will be damaged in which case removing the water doesn't help.

My phone also drowned in the laundry a few years back but my cousin had some interesting knowledge about soaking it in alcohol. It fixed my screen (all the blurryness and spots) but my cousin snapped the screen of the phone off on accident T_T. See if google can help you in that manner in any way
