So I woke up this morning, Abit to late for work, but managed to sneak in without my boss noticing.
Browsed TL on my phone leaving some comments while beeing in the bathroom. Got up when I was about to flush the toilet,
And the worst case scenario happens, I drop the F****** cellphone in the toilet as it was beeing flushed,
Had to watch my new LG Optimus 2X p990 get sucked down in the drain as I was to tired to even react. And thats not the worst thing, Whats worse is that its not actually my phone, but my workphone with all my work on it.
(no, insurence havent kicked in yet) And i'm a Android developer so like most of my work for the past 6 months got flushed away in half a second..
Havent told my boss yet as he would probably facepalm as hell and fire me.... So yeah, I have to replace the phone (About 600$)
And on top of that I probably get fired aswell as having to watch my hard work getting flushed in a instance. Damn this day is definately not my day.

Thanks for the heads up.. :/ Was on the bathroom in desperation now and just put my hand down the toilet and found it, It had just stopped under the first turn.. But its turned off and pretty wet. Drying it up now and hopefully the Sd card atleast works.. If only i just would have put my hand down the toilet faster, I might have been able to save the hole thing. FML

Glad to hear you recovered the phone. I imagine even if the phone itself isn't salvageable, some to most of the data will be. I've personally had good experiences with cellphones living through submersion in water for extended periods of time.

Thanks! I Have just now opened the phone for it to dry up, I'm praying to god that this works lol ;D The best thing would be if it was all fine when dry, and i didnt have to tell my boss x(

Well yes and no, If I get the phone to work, Ill catch up by working overtime, If not im going to have to buy a new phone aswell as collect my things.. lol

RULE NO.1 about phones that got wet: DON'T LET IT DRY UP! Unless you're sure it's clean and any of the circuits won't corrode (i mean, take it wet to any place that repairs phones - they should clean it with distilled water)

I mean, if you let it dry up like that you risk that some of the circuits would corrode and no longer work. But if you can't do that, just don't try to turn it on when its wet - it would probably short circuit instantly.

I think he means dismantle it, wash it with distilled water or alcohol (not the drinking kind). Dry for a couple of days at least.
Don't you work on an actual computer? How can your work be on a phone? Backups? If it's just the phone, accidents happen, shouldn't be such a big deal explaining (some of it) to your boss.

Reminds me of something that happened freshman year of college. My roommate was snoozing (as it was the morning), and for some reason he'd put the cellphone on the window sill next to and above his bed. As the alarm rang, he somehow managed to prop the window open while trying to turn off the alarm.
The phone fell.
We lived on the 5th floor.

Worst case scenario you could make up some story like.. you were feeling sick and dizzy in the stall, someone called and you pulled out your phone thinking it was important, and ended up fainting in the stall or something, I dunno. :p Good luck!

well yes I work on the computer, But most of my work. Sqlite database test's as well as beta and most of my finished work is on my phone, As the program is on my computer but the what the program puts in a table/scrollview is on the phone..

Well is only like 45min since the phone took a swim, So after that i've been trying to fix it, And pretending to work at the same time :S

Well guys, I think the thing to do here is to tell my boss. As my consience is really killing me, aswell as the fact that i'm trying to hide.
