I've learned whenever it comes to exiting a game always be extra careful to avoid a mistake like that.... ESPECIALLY if they are being bm.

Aw man, should have used the pause key ^^
I had a similar experience, attempting to adjust sfx volume and accidentally hit surrender... /facepalm

never never never click the buttons on the menu. Learn those hotleys and use them. Will also save you from embarrassment when somebody tells you that the built-in voice communication is activated by f10+n (or if they're really big douches alt+f4)
Friend and I used to win team games by tricking an opponent into leaving then 2v1ing. Good times.

Haha it happened because I know the hotkey for surrender but not pause--so I had to open the menu.

I was about to make the same mistake yesterday. Thankfully I've drilled the hotkeys into my head (f10 -> s) instead of clicking. Some guy paused and left, but it still gave me the option to surrender @_@.
Blizzard, thank you for not making 's' as the hotkey to surrender.

Yea i did something similar way back in beta. Was playing this really high ranked Z and was winning, was so fucking excited that I was going to win. I got a knock on my door and went to answer, the guy was nice enough to let me pause, but when I came back I hit surrender instead of resume. I felt so bad immediately after lol T_T

This happened to me once, where someone paused and then left the game, and the game never registered it. i missed the unpause button and hit surrender...
I've learned frmo that point to never use that stupid menu ever again. If I need to surrender, it's f10-n. If I need to pause or unpause, Pause/Break is my friend.

I would have manner armouried him. Then quit game as 3/3 completes for vehicles and air.
That's the typical counter to the lose-everything-into-bm-pause-into-opponent-misclick-into-win strategy. Pure BO win. Unlucky you.

This is why they first created keyboards with a "pause break" key.. so people like you wouldn't fail so hard and accidently leave  <3<3<3

sc2 really needs a second "confirmation" menu when you choose to surrender (like they had in BW...)

Hahaha this happened to me just 2 days ago! I was winning vs a Terran and as I was about to kill him the menu pops out (just as if he'd surrendered, I didn't know I had pressed anything) and by reflex, I clicked a button and it just happened to be the Surrender button -.- omgomg.
I'm left handed and the key S lies so badly for me that I don't use it to get to the Score Screen.
