I played this set a few days ago at a Toronto club, felt it was one of my better ones.
It's mostly a mix of Top40, House, Electro. Turn it up and dance your pants off!
Enjoy

It's one of the better mixes I've heard and you go pretty easy on the heavy beats. Very nice!

So far pretty good. Well mixed. I'll say more when I finish listening to it. Update: about halfway through. Holy tit I want your day n nite mix. Just finished listening. I like it a lot. My only criticisms are that some of your transitions just don't sound good. You try to put two songs beside each other which don't share any similarities which just doesn't work. I'm not saying all of them are bad because most of them are actually pretty good. There are just a few which don't work and if I had effort I'd go back and find the ones that I didn't like. Also I don't really understand what happened at the end. The first 1 hour 20 minutes is all top 40 then for the last 2 or 3 songs it's completely different. Though I guess that could work if you're the last act for the night, however if you're on first or the middle set then i wouldn't want to end it like that. Just keep going with the top 40 or something a bit faster. Apart from those two criticisms I really enjoyed it and it's probably one of the best sets I've heard in a while. To put my comments in perspective I don't actually DJ myself but I spend a lot of time with DJs and listen to a lot of this type of music.

A huge part of djing is to introduce people to new music, by going through a big portion of new and old releases. This includes crate digging, going through dj tracklists, reading music reviews, dj charts, spending hours going through digital websites cataloques, listening to promos etc. etc.

Perhaps its the dj's fault from my area but that's just how it is. There's one dj i know around where I live that doesn't play top 40/dubstep and most people don't like him that much.

Well that doesn't apply to the whole world uknow. For example in UK the places that book djs who dont play average top40/dubstep are usually the most crowded places. In my city there is your average nightclubs with bar dj's playing mostly what is on the radio and people request them but in contrast we have nightclubs which book house/techno/dnb djs and they are equally crowded.

After I posted that last one i realised I was implying that. I didn't mean to. I just meant to say that that's my experience from my area. Also where I live the tracks are a bit heavier as well. I personally would love it if the people here wanted to hear some house or trance or something like that but unfortunately I have to put up with what I've got. That DJ that I mentioned that most people don't like is my favourite because he plays house and trance and I make sure he plays at every event I host just because I want people to hear more then the mainstream shit.

The mix is Escape Day 'n Nite by White Panda: I agree there are a few transitions that don't mesh too well, there's definitely work to be done in that area. As for the genre change, the next DJ on the lineup was a pure house DJ so I wanted to transition into that type of music, which explains the Avicii lol. I played in a Top40 club at peak time (12:00-1:30), so can't really put a lot of harder house/electro/trance :p Appreciate your critique though! ![]()
