She's back, and looking better than ever! I must express my excitement over this, simply because I had to pay the shop $500.00 so I could get her back, and into her loving arms… er, seats! Thank goodness I lowered my deductible earlier this year to 500. EVERYONE should have their deductible at 500 or lower. The cost of lowering it from 1000.00 is usually minimal, regardless of your insurance carrier.
She was hit in a parking lot. It was awful and traumatic, I wasn’t there to comfort her or rage on the idiot who destroyed the entire passenger side of my vehicle. In a mall parking lot. Wtf. The idiot must have been drunk trying to park. I called security and - no joke - they sent a guy (boy) who was MAYBE 17 years old. Since when do they hire minors as security guards?! He assured me they had “extremely advanced video technology” and he would find the perp who committed this awful crime. Nice.
I still haven’t gotten a call back, and I doubt he spent hours reviewing the tapes. He seemed genuinely serious about his job though… Sigh. At least it’s over and Claudine is home!

The car looks really nice now :D grats on getting "her" back.

PICS OR ITS NOT REAL! + Show Spoiler +just kidding, but did you make a previous blog with a damage picture?

It was all scratched up down the side and dented mostly at the fender/front. I've only had this car roughly 6 months so it was devastating!
I used to drive a shitty 97 saturn (first car) with no air/windows wouldn't roll down/no working speakers... This is my baby! <3

It did happen lol! This is from one of the estimates on 7/26, Geico took pictures but hey, this is somethin'! Had to black out a lot... this is the internet, after all.

The higher deductible is sometime worth it depending on your age, history, car value, etc. I lowered mine to 5 a while back because I'm old enough it dont matter, but I remember doing the math because I had it at 1000 for a while and I saved a bit.
anway, congrats on having your car back!

Ouch, I feel bad for you, its got to suck not knowing who did it. I got an elder woman hit my while I was driving, she hit my back wheel on driver's side as she was leaving her driveway. She claimed I was "going too fast and wasn't respecting the speed limit, therefore I was responsible for getting hit on the side...
She got a lot of damage and then got her husband and kids (~25-30yo kids) to come out and talk me out of tanking the insurance numbers, but after 30 minutes of talking, they gave it.
Notable lessons I learned from this, that I hadn't learned at driving school. People exiting their driveway have priority over people on the street. I can't call an Indian woman a bad driver, because that would make racist and sexist.
2 weeks after that, my back left wheel was screeching really loud, the break was angled and scraping my break pad.
I hate dumb people.
Hope you find out who did this! I know it sucks, considering you could've saved all that money.

I'm pretty sure that private driveways do NOT have right of way over people already driving on the street.
moving vehicle vs. stopped vehicle hmmmmmmmmmmmm
e: i'm dumb

Being a ladyperson, I will excuse you for owning a corolla.

I just hope that malls "advanced video technology" isn't anything like walmarts "advanced video technology." Some dude walked out of the store with a $2000 tv the other day and I was like... so why not just find his license plate on the cameras? Oh, they can't read license plates? Oh... That's useful.

This is my baby! <3 well if it helps to console you my friend who was a new driver gotta say "was" because the car is no longer in use by her, as it was a gift from her to anyways.. she was driving fast against another fast driver in a much faster car, it was fun yay, no cars on a straight road and then red light so everything was said and done. Nope, after the light went green and we drove straight that same car, a passenger gave her (my friend/driver) the finger and she literally did not pay attention and blew out both right side tires by hittin the curb hard enough. with no phone and her being scared of her mothers reaction we drove the car for about 10 minutes on its flat right side tires. By the time she got new tires and installed them (her uncle did the installing) the right half of the car was unbalanced. She gave her mom 600 to get it all said and done, but nope, mom went and blew the money LOL. no car no more. haha

I am glad you are happy to have her back. There is nothing like a good, reliable vehicle.

While I was at work tonight (I work in the mall) I called security to see what the deal was.... They blatantly said they can't see license plates, ever. At all. GREATTT. Tell your teenage security guard that, no wonder I never got a call back!
They also told me they legally can't say whether they found something on the tapes or not. WTF. My insurance has to contact them apparently with some special request form. Soooo I called Geico, and they were like wtf we don't do that...... O.o
I give up!
