In an IRC channel earlier, I jokingly said that Brood War is gay. However, TL mod Harem lurks in the channel, and sent me this warning:

A mod made a baseless warning (I didn't do this on TL), and not only that, the mod sexually harassed me. As a loyal poster on TL, I am personally offended, and think that this makes the TL staff as a whole look bad.
IRC log in question:

This would be better off in Website Feedback.
As for the judgment, TL's IRC channel is merely a subsidiary of the forums, right? The same basic rules of etiquette apply there. I don't see any problems with Harem's choice.

No, I'm complaining that a mod sent me a warning on TL for something that had nothing to do with TL. AND sexually harassed me.

That's something mods specifically ban people for. I wish mods wouldn't use that kind of language in warnnings and bans.

You say you were on IRC... was it the TL IRC? Becuase afaik, that still falls under the jurisdiction of the mods.

IMO you should have been temp banned, you should feel lucky that you got off with just a warning.
Also, you used the term 'gay' as a derogatory slur, which is not acceptable. I know because I've been warned like 2 or 3 times for calling various things (such as Zerg) gay.

I also don't understand all this uproar about "power abuse". It's an internet forum. It's not like someone abusing power to fire you or something. He just gave you a warning on teamliquid. Do you really care? It seems like a total joke so I don't understand why you get so nancy pants over it.

There are cases where TL members can be banned for something they do outside of this website. This is a community and as such, they are allowed to determine who they want in their community. (Ex: Banning known cheaters from TL)
