I just had my AC fixed yesterday on my Accord, and thankfully it was just a minor leak of freon so all my guy had to do was add a dye into the system, find the leak, patch it up, and add more freon. It only cost $70 total since I've known the guy for the longest time.

However, major leaks will probably require you to replace some parts and can get very pricey.

Maybe next time a cop pulls you over start playing some classical music or something (until your ears start to bleed), and that's sure to lessen whatever negative image he'll inevitably form of you.

I don't know if a broken AC is something they would pay for though, its not something that keeps your car from running.

Lame about the cops though, only thing I can say is know your rights. They can't search your car unless you let them or they have a warrant.
